So the guy in the truck stop off Baxter Rd on I-39 isn't worth dealing with? I was gonna let him peak and tune my setup because he's closest to my location
-
I would choose a technician based upon the performance and clarity of his work.
If his radios sound the same in the parking
lot as well as 40 miles down the road that would be a good indicator he had some sort of clue. If his radios hear signals you are unable to hear, that would also be a good indicator.... -
Chip used to do a lot of good CB Work for us. He was a good dude. The new clown in there - never mind. If I don't have anything nice to say, I won't say it. Chip should of made the new dude get a new business name. Drivers please do not confuse the great CNC reviews of Chip with the new owner.

Chip used to buy antennas, brackets, studs, and quick-disconnects from the machine shop in Canton Ohio, but that is all I know about him. I never met him personally. -
I think what separated Chip from a lot of the others, is he genuinely cared about you. I forgot what that steel coil antennae was called, those were his favorite; but he would sell all kinds of brands. He said most people love the brand names, so we wanted some that money too. Lol. Then there was a good CB guy on 83 just over the border in Wisconsin, he was a good dude too, and had knowledgeable staff. I forget his name, but he had an Electronics shop. Ok I'm done ranting now. Carry on - over!

The funny thing is that the stainless steel stuff he was selling was better quality than most of the name brand stuff as well as more durable. It's a shame more shops don't purchase any of that merchandise made by that machine shop before he goes out of business and decides to retire
Rix43 Thanks this. -
There's a new CB shop at exit 95 inside the Huck's Flying J in Mt Vernon, IL. It opened October 2018. Diesel Doctor only works on diesel computer systems now. ICB Radio is the new shop there now. Rick is the technician's name. I've heard he does good work and has been in CB radio a long time. He seems to know what he is doing.
