I’ve posted this here before, but people need to realize that there’s a drastic change when it comes to cannabis. It is now legal or somewhat legal in most states, and so therefore it is literally everywhere. And it is in everything. As a commercial truck driver, you need to be aware of this, so you don’t inadvertently or accidentally get exposed to it. It’s not just CBD oil. It’s other oils like massage oils and very concentrated oils that even one drop of it would have you testing positive for THC.
You go to a party, you pick up a cookie and eat it and it has it in there and you didn’t know it. You’ve got a new girlfriend and you complain about your backache and she offers to give you a massage. She put a couple drops of oil on your back and starts rubbing it in. It’s got THC in it. Guess what’s gonna happen to you if your drug tested. The list goes on and on and on. Some people think it’s cute to give people cannabis without their consent or knowledge. In food products and other means. It’s vaping pens everywhere. It’s in food products everywhere. It’s in candy, it’s in oils.
BE AWARE! it don’t matter if you’re exposed to this without your consent, you will still lose your CDL and your truck. Driving career will be over.

Neither are violent videogames, dark lyrics in music, too much sugar, fast food or jerking off. Regarding developing brains that is. Yet as a society we allow it against the advice of the professionals who study such things. Social Cognitive Theory/Bobo Doll Experiment, obesity/over stimulation serotonin respectively.

Since most drug tests are urine, i highly doubt a topical solution is going absorb enough to force a positive.
You are correct though, some people find it humorous to give unwitting others substances without their consent. They are called criminals.

Not worth hauling in the US,,,the dramatic decline in talent is bad enough in Canada,,,much worse in the US with all those multiple collisions…nobody paying attention….

My ultimate point here, and I do not advocate impaired driving, even though most here are guilty of it at one time or another, the sad truth is, we are losing a lot of good drivers because of this. Now the OP is probably a great driver, shows up every day on time, doesn't hit anything, YET, is deemed a threat and blackballed, for something as silly as CBD. Is it better to hire unqualified foreigners that don't understand what a runaway ramp is? What, too soon?

You and I both know it isn’t, but it would have to legalized at the federal level first or any of this type of conversation is a non-starter.

True, but what a man does on his weekend off shouldn’t have anything to do with it so long as he’s straight by the time he hits the road again.

I’m as “right” and anti-government as can be and even I’m against marijuana being illegal, if anything on 10th Amendment grounds. If a state wants to ban it that’s another argument, but as far as I’m concerned a federal marijuana ban is no more constitutional than a federal gun ban.

Make that argument to old Popcorn Sutton. Pretty sure i know what he thought of the revenue man. Great documentary on youtube and ironic how one little moonshine operation drew the ire of the Federal gubment while Clarence Thomas is still a "justice."

And to think booze is legal UNLESS you make it yourself and the man doesn't get his share.

Nobody's opinion about weed counts as much as the test results of a drug screen or the law. Have any opinion you like, it doesn't protect you from the consequences of using THC. If you don't know you are subject to random drug screen or will be tested after an accident, then you inattention to the rules, in addition to your drug use, are good reasons to sideline you from trucking.

No Safety Manager is going to read your THC research paper on the side of the road. He's not going to listen to you imagine some future world with only the tests you accept and pass and let you avoid getting fired after you fail a test. The rules are what they are and they apply to anyone in trucking. AFTER the rules change then follow them. Violate the current rules and you will have 70 hours per week to eat cheetos & make a fantasy drug policy.
