I worked as a mechanic in the Tampa terminal from 2001-2004....I went on sooooooooooo many service calls for accidents...A CTL tractor trailor hauling DAP/sulfer went into the bay!!!!! The driver didnt set his brakes while he went to the b-room while he was at the loading shed!!!!...I have seen more roll overs there than anywhere in the US....getting off the exits speeding and rolling over....Dragging landing legs around LOL...I was there when a driver on the yard took out the radio antenna they had there across from the shop and it fell on the power lines and blacked out the whole neighbor hood LOL Yeah they are definatly a cheap company to work for and pay is absolutly crap...for all regardless of driver/or mechanic...:biggrin_25525:

i worked for CT for 2.5 years running in state flatbed and it was one of the best jobs i ever had. Home everynight and weekends off making great money. Our trailers were old but i never had any problems the whole time i was there, and my truck was a brand new mach vision daycab.

You can't blame CCC for drivers effing up equipment, rollovers, crashes, etc, all driver related, yet u guys are bashing the company, i don't get it. :biggrin_25511:

I also put in 2.5 years with CT. made more money (per mile/per week) and had nicer equipment than any other company I've worked for. had 3 progressively nicer trucks. never had ANY problems. if I had known it was going to get worse, I probably would've stayed. the original poster was a little lacking in specifics.

I live in Tampa and see these trucks almost every day. Never really seen one clean and in the summer the drivers look hot, tired and dirty! Those Mack trucks look really run down, that must be a real hard days work!:biggrin_2552:

Have to say have lurked and now posting these people gave me a chance in '75 at Clay Hyder. Been thru alot worked CTL(chemical tank lines) before and after buyout not bad just changes. Switched to CT(coastal transport) after buy out had fun made money at all of there divisions. Never had a problem, more miles, many a meeting with safety, could not understand that I was not the problem-dispatch was. Any way after reading these post about everyone low pay what do you want. Put two kids thru college, wife at that time thru school,CPA now, called money management, and time manangement. Been out of trucking for 9 yrs. and going to get back in for part time opportunity, does not come around that off
end, but these new people really don't care. Give Me, Give Me, Give Me.
Have worked for Montgomery Tanks when Buz was just starting out, hauled stuff that nobody else would, A& B Marine was a blast made more money and learned how to invest from their clients.
The drivers today want more because they don't look to the future. I myself have been out of trucking 9 yrs and doing very well working 9mo.s on hot dog stand,Mikey's Curbside Grill, Never Trust a Skinny Cook, took me 6yrs of semi retirement to deside but Mr. Bostick gave me that chance 30 plus years ago and am grateful. Have to start and finish somewhere. Your call.

CCC isn't a bad company at all. They are in a different bracket than the Werner Swift Roehl JBHunt crowd. Those are bad companies.

I have to agree with the others . I've seen their equipment all over the country and it looks like junk . It's mostly O/O's though . They must have low pay and low hiring standards .

My husband and myself drove team for almost four years for this company. We always had a new/newer Mack Vision and never had any complaints on the equipment. Anytime there was an issue, CCC took care of it! The one time we had a breakdown, a motel room was provided for us.
We drove 5K to 7K miles a week and were treated like royalty! Anything we wanted or needed, we got without any question. Unfortunately, I had to come off the road for six months due to surgery . In the meantime, CCC lost the account we were servicing and we had to relocate to an area where companies were still hiring.

    CCC was great to us!:biggrin_25525:
