I obtained my class A through my current company last year, I was trained in a 18spd lowboy and sent to a private instructor. I passed and recieved my class A cdl but they have since put me on a Class B tanker for the past year. They refuse to let me move to an A position as my current position is more lucrative for the company. I've since found out that they have cooked the books on the training hrs for the instructor and I managed to get my Cdl with no documented Class A training hrs. Now I am having issues finding Class A work because of the year of Class B work aswell as the lack of training hrs. What would be my best course of action to pursue a class A job.
CDL A, no experience with no certificate of training

Class "B" work won't qualify you for class "A" driving jobs -- regardless of whether your first carrier books were cooked -- or not.
You'll have to start out pursuing class "A" work....with no real experience.
What is your zip code?

Yes I see this is a headache. I regret taking their offer for training, I should have just saved up for schooling while I was operating equipment for themnextgentrucker and tscottme Thank this.

Don't go into any details about how you acquired a CDL-A.
Just say you drove the Class-B tanker because it paid more money.Wargames, Voodoo Pyg, TripleSix and 4 others Thank this. -
Being able to learn a lesson is a rare skill, so that's the good news. Some companies may be interested if you take a CDL A refresher course. DO NOT PAY FOR A REFRESHER COURSE until a company gives you assurance they will hire you once you complete it and your research shows that company is where you want to work. Refresher courses are usually much less expensive than a full CDL A course.nextgentrucker, PaulMinternational, snowmantrucking101 and 1 other person Thank this.
