ok i do know swift was bringing newbies over to the stating testing center in columbus ohio ...they had been trained at swift but had to test at state facility because of their issues with the illegal testing ...ironic roadmaster is right in the same lot as the test site lol ...i think one guy in 5 from swift passed that i saw ...not very pretty to say the least

I've actually decided to go to a truck driving school that I just found out yesterday that's only 5 blocks from my house here in Denver. I plan on just getting my CDL and then keeping my options open afterwards.

Swift still does third party testing @ the Phoenix academy.

If you attend the academy @ Phoenix you WILL have to have an AZ CDL permit. If you are attending from out of state Swift will take you to the AZ commercial MVD office to get you permit and will also take you back to get your license.

Interesting comment, I went to Swift in San Antonio 5 or so years ago. We started with a class of 42 which was whittled down to 18 by the time we went to get our CDL from Texas DOT. 17 of the 18 passed the first time, the one that didn't was allowed to test again that afternoon and passed then. A little better than 1 in 5.

That's the other thing.. it seems as though Swift "kicks" people out of their schooling that they have no intention of hiring later.. basically if there's ANYTHING they don't like about you, they send you home with nothing. I'd much rather get my CDL the old fashion way, that way if for any reason things didn't work with Swift, I still have my CDL and I'll go elsewhere and it won't be a waste of time or money. Oh and by the way that was not a slam on Swift, because I do plan on going their to start with in this career but simply saying that the risk is too high to put my CDL in just one companies hands. I found out too that the school I plan to attend here in Denver actually works with SEVERAL companies and has job placement.
