Or backing up if you don't know how to do that. A blind side back takes a little getting used to but I don't believe they ask you to do that on the test. I've seen drivers who are already in a truck working for a company that can't back up. I wish you luck on getting an easy examiner!

Backing up takes practice, I sometimes still over steer.. Some states have different requirement for their skill test. In Ma it is a serpentine, straight line back, blind side and site side (Parallel) parking, then a road test.. Also some states (Ma included) won't let you transfer your CDL from one state to their unless you have had 3 consecutive driving experience..

Most definitely!! Got lucky and got it right the first time without getting out or using any pull ups.

I failed the first time, just when I thought the DOT wasn't looking I tried to sneak in a extra pull up.. The second time did it with one pull up..

Where did you get the information about transferring a CDL from one state to Massachussets?
On the Ma. RMV website: http://www.mass.gov/rmv/license/8cdl.htm
It states: You may convert a Commercial Driver's License from another state or the District of Columbia. However, due to federal requirements you may not convert a hazardous materials endorsement from another state. To be eligible to receive a hazardous materials endorsement on your Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License, you must apply for and pass a background check and the hazardous materials written exam.

I am from Ma. but stationed in NC. I am retiring from the Army this summer and I turned in my Ma. lic here in NC for a NC class C lic then went to school for my CDL. I know hold a NC Class A and will be converting it back to a Ma. class A when I retire and move back to Ma.
