CDL holder looking for Non-OTR

    Hello

    Brand new to forum, been searching the threads for information. I currently work for a local school district driving buses for 15+ years, but they have also trained me in class A to drive a automatic 53’ tractor trailer which I’ve driven several times in the last 6 months or so. I am in the Houston area so where is the best spot (local agency, online, recruiter, etc) to look for day shift non-OTR jobs/careers that allow me nights and weekends off? That is my biggest concern as I have a family and want to avoid long road trips every week. I’ve checked out swift, Schneider, and Knights, but they all want OTR drivers which won’t work for me. If I was single, it wouldn’t be an issue. Lol

    ABF has an opening for dock to driver.
    As stated earlier try the LTL carriers. Also look into waste companies, concrete companies, and fuel hauling companies if you have a tanker and hazmat endorsement
