The TSA letter arrived in the mail yesterday saying I am eligible to hold a HazMat endorsement. Having obtained a TWIC a few years ago, I didn't expect there to be an issue. Spent several hours last night studying the state CDL manual and taking on-line practice tests. This morning I am headed to the Motor Vehicle Administration to take the real exam. This one is reportedly the most difficult.

Coffee on board so off I go :)

    Stay safe.

Well the studying paid off. I aced it with 30 out of 30 correct. Too funny since I got one question incorrect on each of the other exams...

OK - back to focusing on getting all the requirements completed to get orientation scheduled.

Avoid Comcar at all costs. I worked for CCC Transportation (the van division) for 6 years. Slow trucks, low pay. Wait, you're new so they'd give you all the loads. Go with them, get your experience, and get out.

Any news Perpetual? Roehl said they might be starting a refresher course in March, I'm hoping to jump on that. If not though, they said I'd have to take their 160 hour CDL course. If that's the case - I'm going the Schneider route, I don't have the time for another CDL course if I can help it. My previous course was 270 hours long.

If you are planning on staying out any length of time CT has dog box stlye sleepers soyou might want to think abt that.(for comfort) Equipment is not all you need to look at but you do want to be comfortable.By the way you will not earn 60k-70k like recruiters tell you the first year or second year. You must have alot of patience to be in trucking.Hope to hear how or adventure is going later on. Have a great day and enjoy the best office you can find.LOL Safe travels to you. :biggrin_2551:
