Hello Everyone, My name is Dr. Christian and I'm a chiropractor. I am getting ready to take my Certified Medical Examiner test and would love to hear your response to a couple of questions I have regarding how you choose your Doctor. Are you looking for the closest one to your home? Your work? Is the price of the exam more important to you when choosing where to go? If a clinic or Doctor offered a lower price than where you currently go would you change and how far away from your current Doctors location would you be willing to go for that cheaper price? How much cheaper would it have to be for you to go 20-30 more miles out of the way from where you are. Would you like it if a Doctor offered to come to your home to do the exam if it were offered and how much would you pay for the Doctor to come to you or would you just rather go find a doctor /clinic to go to? If a Doctor offered to come to your employers office on a certain day to do the exam for all their drivers, do you think they would like that or not? What price would you think is fair for this exam? Your input would really help me to help you guys get this exam done cheaper and possibly more conveniently! And thank you all for trucking! God Bless
(CDL Medical Exam) Your input much appreciated

Many of us here are company drivers for large companies and don't dictate where we go for DOT physicals. Your best bet would be to get in contact with any companies in your area to see if you could contract business with them.

Flatbedn is correct. Any company of size let's say over 50 drivers will send their driver to the doctor they have an account set up with. That leaves you with all the newbies, small company drivers and the owner operators. Location and price are important. I know I always google and search out the cheapest doctor. Why pay $200 when you can get the same thing completed for $40 but I live in TN. CA would be a little higher. $60 is probably the lower end.
Another thing to consider is location. You won't draw many patients in a rural area. You want to be near population and the interstate. If you want to attract owner operators then it would be better if you could accommodate 1-2 trucks in your parking lot. Perhaps a strip mall or next to a truck stop. Living in CA they have many restricted truck routes so check this list...

If you want a steady flow of customers then hook up with a trucking company of size. Trucking has the highest turnover rate and large companies herd new drivers through like cattle. -
For mine,I knew I was in fit shape,so it was all about the price. All were in the $60 range,so I went to Texas Med. since it was closest.
