    I believe it! I did get offers from Swift and Stevens, just checking on pros/cons and ability to do reefer or flatbed.

    There's pros to both, but if it were me, I'd start with Swift flatbed. The main reason why is because you'll have the opportunity to learn how to back a spread axle, and should you switch to reefer or dry van down the line, you'll be more sensitive to load securement. Flatbed will force you to pay attention to detail. Plus, learning to back a spread axle will give you a serious advantage over a lot of truckers when it comes to various backing situations. You'll become more reliant on backing at 45 degree angle than the alley dock. To me the 45 gives more room on the blind side. They most likely won't teach you that in school. The alley dock, I've hardly ever used in all my years.

    Stevens is basically a "one-trick pony" (reefer).....whereas, Swift is NOT.
