Is renting a truck and trailer a viable way to take the test or are you forced to pay a company 2x-10x the normal amount? Do these companies have a CDL licensed person ride with you to the DPS or do they send you there driving illegally or does the permit allow you to drive without a person in the truck?
Cdl permit quesiton

You can get someone to rent for you yes and no you can not drive without someone with license if you check Craigslist sometimes farmers will rent and take u to DMV for road test
gpsman Thanks this. -
That is a way to get your CDL. Just make sure you have a company lined up that will accept no school and no experience. Co ops will usually take you on hauling grain if you go that route. Hey home every night and it gets you in the seat to drive and get some miles. If you can drive in the city you can drive anywhere.

It depends where you live. I know IL and GA have businesses that'll rent you a tractor trailer and ride with you.
