I seem millis around and I got some question looking into getting my CDL.., hiring age?! What's their training like?! Do they pay for your schooling?! How big of a company are they?! How are they with hometime?! What's the starter pay?! Do they have a pet policy?! What do they charge for a pet?! Do they have out of route miles if so what percent?

I start the training class at MTI in Cartersville on Monday. You can get a lot of that information from Millis's website http://www.millistransfer.com/ and there is a link there also for MTI, which is Millis's Training Institute website. The rest I would call and speak to a recruiter about.

Okay i will answer some of your questions. you can find more answers if you visit our website or just read some of the treads here.
Age i believe is 21 but could be 18 i am not 100% sure on that one
training is 3 weeks classroom/range then 8 weeks with a trainer
Schooling you have to pay $2500 plus another $2500 for a total of $5000. You pay $100 up front to acquire your seat in class then another $400 when you start class. Then they take $20 out of your pay every week until you pay off the rest. After one year of service they forgive $2500 of the money. so technically you will only have $2000 to pay off. Now if you stay in the hotel during class they will finance that also and take $10 a week until payed off.
Millis is a small/medium company with around 900 trucks.
Hometime depends on when you want it. When i was OTR i would go home every 2-3 weeks but i am now regional so i get home every weekend.
pay is on the website. there are a few different pay packages. It is average to above average pay for a starter company. I love it and have no complaints.
    No pets. Sorry.
Millis does not tell you how to get to your destination. They give you a mileage like lets say from point A to point B they pay 500 miles. you figure out your own route. they do not like you to go over 10% of the paid mileage i believe. so that would be 50 miles in this example. But every driver i know just likes to get there as fast as possible. the more loads and more miles you turn the bigger the paycheck.
    Hope this helps.

    Garlicbread56 Thanks this.

How often is it that you get a load that is longer miles then they say?! Even with that 50 miles leeway... And if so what do you do so you don't get in trouble?

And is that 10% a day or week?! Maybe I'm putting to much thought into , but I don't wanna end up being charged or fired for making a wrong turn ... Or it being more miles then they are paying for.

the miles are usually within 10 of what it pays. i have some routes i get there in less miles some over a little. its never been a problem. if you do go over they will just send you a warning message. and its per trip not day or week. dont worry about it. unless you get really lost it isnt an issue. orientation is videos and paperwork mostly. drug test is the pee in a cup thing. and you get your physical before you come to class using your own doctor.

Do you need a passport? High school diploma and birth certificate? When you head to CDL training?
