cdl road test question

    does a driver who already has a cdl but has never had a road test before because he was grandfathered in, need a road test to cross state lines

    Why would he have to take a road test? Either you have a CDL or you don't. I was a driver before they invented the CDL, Teamsters sponsored a written test for all of us to take and we were issued a CDL. No testing other than that, not like today.
