Does anyone know what kind of credit score these schools look for for financing? Just really don't want to find a cosigner and the companies that I am looking at don't do their own schooling.

I see no reason to waste 4 to 6k on a school when you can go to prime or similar company and get the training for free. The 1 year commitment is nothing and if you do leave early the 3k value is pro rated to pay back. After 2 weeks training you start make 700 a week till training is done then you get your own truck. I paid 6k for my schooling and it was a waste. Just weeks of no pay check watching videos and little seat time.
Longarm, tommymonza and SHOJim Thank this. -
Pick seem to see a lot of posts about prime taking weeks to get you a trainer.
-
I'm not trying to get my cdl and wait for weeks before I can start earning money. I like the multiple prehires thing much better. A lot of companies have tuition reimbursement.
-
Prime allows trainers to pick their students not forced to take a undesirable person. So it's up to you to find a trainer that you click with. To many sit around on their ### waiting for prime to do it for them after a few weeks. Be visible and be productive and you'll have a trainer quickly while the lazy ones sit around waiting for prime to do it for them

I did my training at covenant and I got an assigned trainer And it was not fun. The guy was just nasty. Best to have a choice on who you are living with for weeks

So these stories I'm hearing are lazy assets waiting for something to be handed to them? Welcome to the new millennium I guess. I can and will stand out. I want to start right away. Do you know anything about primes flatbed division?
-
Yea I pulled flatbed at first but when my wife joined me I switched to reefer. It's good but I'll admit I don't miss tarping in the snow. I'll be a pansy and just bang the docks till I retire. I have the utmost respect for flatbed guys
Tavonte Battles Thanks this. -
I'm not sure about a credit score, but some of the CDL schools that are located at Community Colleges have Sallie Mae loans available because of that affiliation, and they must be pretty easy to get a loan through.
Where are you located? -
Do you know a about primes flatbedding? I've read they have a shortage of flatbed trainers. Just doing my homework here..
