There is always a shortage of trainers in every company. Most can't do it or don't have the demeanor to teach.

I am trying to get on with Schneider, but Prime is a strong 2nd because they have their own CDL training. I'd have to pay out of my own pocket if I want to drive for Schneider, but since they are the only carrier I am considering that does not have their own CDL school, it doesn't' make a lot of sense for me to do it.
I would hope Prime takes some initiative to push trainers and trainees together. Do they at least make an attempt at a 'meet and greet' or something similar?hharleywood Thanks this. -
And then we're still at lazy ##### not standouts

Yea the trainers come to the training pad but my suggestion is go to the test out pad and grab one testing out a student. Nothing against Schneider but unless they raised pay they pay less short and long term than primehharleywood Thanks this.

so just walk up and .chat them up. Do we ask them when they'll be back in or do they talk to each other and give opinions of what they see currently at the school?

I've done deliveries in straight trucks. I've bumped docks with yard hosslers. I'm not completely green, that's why I'm confident I can stand out. Worked in the office as dispatcher and manager at a couple trucking companies for about 7 years. I know the game. Just can't work for any of them until I get a couple years under my belt

Some trainers where jackets and shirts signifying they are trainers. And yes just ask and start a conversation with one that looks like someone you would trust to train you or wait for them to approach the training class. Early Bird gets the worm though....as you can imagine the guy who weighs 400 pds and you can smell 50 feet away is probably the last to get picked or is sorta forced on a trainer. Consider it a job interview and act accordingly

I Googled Schneider and yes they pay less than prime. I'm not familiar with their facilities but prime's are the best I've seen to date

Well, ill take another look at prime then. Maybe call a recruiter and see what they say
bomoto Thanks this.
