First off just as time will heal a broken bone that has been properly set, time will heal this situation. I touched on this kind of situation in this THREAD so I see no need to repeat it here. I also need to point out to the OP that they need to go to 383.51 and VERY carefully study Table 2.
If I were making hiring decisions I would not hire someone with a >15 MPH over conviction going back 3 years regardless of the type of vehicle being operated at that time. Because one ticket for >15 MPH over is not a disqualifying offense under 383.51 I would go ahead and get the CDL if you have already paid for the school. Just be advised there is a high likelihood you will be required to take a refresher if you wait much longer than a few months to start driving.
The moral of this situation is you must slow down while operating a motor vehicle. As I write this I am reminded of a man I remember from almost 20 years ago back in my hometown. This man had years of experience operating a cement mixer. He used to tell me of all the situations where he was being held by a large dozer and cable while on the side of a large hill. In his case unfortunately he was also an alcoholic and after several DUI convictions, he lost his license. The man he worked for still employed him around the yard doing other kinds of work for him. When I think back to this man what I see was a waste. I know of far too many people that can't legally drive these days because of medical issues, that is sad enough, but to see people as the man I am referring to, it actually pisses me off more than anything else.
Hand, slow the (redacted) down! With a CDL given the right set of circumstances you can make a comfortable living, it does you no good to hand that CDL to a Judge!

I just got my CDL Monday April 8, 2024. But did not know I would come into the industry. I got a speeding ticket exactly two years ago for doing 20 over speed limit. I now know I wont get hired especially with no experience because I've been told by companies. Will OTR hire? Should I wait another year to re-apply? Should I use an attorney? I wish I had someone who knew about this to warn me to fix that issue before even getting my CDL but it happened and now I have to deal with it.
