Thank you for responding to my post. I haven't been in trouble since and have been told Hazmat wouldn't be a problem because it is a misdemeanor. To the vets responding about choosing to leave this one alone, I encourage you not to. To help someone else who has served with the intent of doing it honorably should not be considered any less of a person. Before my second tour in the middle east I made a mistake, I was 21 years old and i'll regret it for the rest of my life.
Big_Red Thanks this. -
I agree the instructor will tell us students whatever we want to hear. Just wondering if there is any truth to what he says about only going back 7 years in the background check.

Unfortunately yes sir..the "big chicken dinner" -
Marijuana is still a listed controlled substance. Its still illegal to use or possess, Federally. As drivers, we are still banned from its use. For any reason.
It matters not, what Colorado or Washington have decided to do with it.
As to the BCD, good luck.fromm99 Thanks this. -
Thanks for your post. Its not as if i'm trying to become a truck driver with a medical card to get high on 95. That chapter of my life has been closed for years. Regardless of laws it doesn't make that OK nor does it change the s*it stain on my dd214.

@chinatown- Since I am new to the forum I am unable to send a PM. However, Thank you very much for the info. I've put a good amount of things in the plus column since my mistake so hopefully they'll look past it. I still have 3 months of class left, I'll call them tomorrow and inquire about starting the hiring process. Thanks again and I'll let you know how it works out for me!
Chinatown Thanks this. -
It's been 10 years, so I don't see any major hurdles. I'm a veteran and If I had hiring authority, would hire him.
luvtotruck and fromm99 Thank this. -
I'll pm you in a few minutes with some details

People make mistakes so don't beat yourself too much over it. If like you said have been 10 years since it happened and you've stayed clean and no other record you should be able yo find a job. All i can say is don't stop applying until someone gives you a chance. May i ask how is your previous employment history?
fromm99 Thanks this.
