We had a guy, call him Chevy Impala, went through alcohol re-hab twice.
Supervisors wait in the employee parking lot to smell* his breath upon arrival.
* might do those other tests, vocal, equilibrium, holding a can of beer.

After the service I tended bar for 5 years at a nice Baltimore restaurant called the Owl Bar and 13th Floor. Now I am driving a box truck for a holistic pet foods distributor "Generation Pet" throughout MD,DC,VA,PA,DL.
My employment history is not good.... If you take out the Marine Corps incident. -

Sorry fromm99, my post was directed at Wedgie, not you.

I was in the military in the 80's. I only produced a DD214 at the first couple of places I applied to. They either didn't seem to care, or in some cases, know what a DD214 even was. Since then, I don't even mention it. And my last several jobs haven't even asked. It only may be an issue if you need a TWIC card, hazmat endorsement, or haul particularly high value cargo. And getting a hazmat endorsement, if possible, may actually be a good thing. If you are able to get that, it would look good in the "big picture", I would think.

This is the 21st century and we are very high tech. Even so, although your military service is documented, that documentation is not available to just anyone. As an example, a good friend of mine was AWOL from the Navy and crossed the border into Az. from Mexico. The Customs guy knew something was not kosher, but all he could do was call the Naval air station in Phoenix to try to verify if this guy was in fact, in the Navy. (my buddy was claiming he was a civilian). Customs could not get any info from the Navy, one way or the other. A prospective employer cannot get just any info. that's why an ex military person is given documentation from the military, showing his enlistment dates, discharge dates and type of discharge.
If the OP can account for his time while he was in the military and state he was working at the local burger joint and not admit he was even in the military at all, he might have a chance. -
Humm...
I don't know... Even what to say!
But here it is one of the advice always I give to my boys: "Everyday, and every moment we face a moment of decision left on right, wrong or right; and depending on your CHOICES or decision, you will have in a near future blessings or consequences". So, consequences we face in our daily life is just the results of STUPIDS decisions we had make in the past. And these consequences we face today don't mean "punishment" but it is just a painful "harvest" for what you have sown. So, just deal with it and don't blame God, your family, friends, church, society, etc, etc... It was and it is your CHOICES and your DECISIONS... Now, live everyday and every moment from now on, making wises decisions and good choices. May God bless you!!!fromm99 Thanks this. -
Was the girl that was just shot in CO simply getting her 'painful harvest' for some bad decision she made?
How about the 20-some kids killed by one of the last wacko killers?
I guess we could have a very long discussion of how God blessed these people in such a round-about way.fromm99 Thanks this. -
