I recommend downloading your state's DMV/BMV app and do the cdl practice tests on there. My husband used practice tests from various sites and found 2 questions with the wrong answers on a non-DMV site.

You will fail it's too soon.
I highly recommend that you make a decision to put it down for good if you're going to get into this business.
Trust me I used to be a pot smoker and a drinker and your mind is not really alert when you have a habit of smoking pot.
Once you get off of it for a long period of time you will then understand what I'm talking about.
If you fail a drug screen it does go on your record for a period Of time but I don't know for sure how long -

I hope you make the right decision to walk the straight and narrow -

I'm not an habitual smoker I took a few pulls prior to that day I had not done so in over 3 months. There is no excuse I simply should have just said no. If I used a blocker would DOT be able to detect it

The test itself is easy. Recap the pre-trip inspection. Best thing to do is try and remember how the the inspection is worded. Most of the time, they want to hear it word for word. Not hard, just sounds it. You remembered more then you think, you'll see. Most of the test givers will allow you to call off everything on the drivers side. Get to the trailer doors, tell him/her what they want to hear and end it with everything I said for this side, applies to the other. Oh, also pay close attention to the pti as you're doing it. The examiner won't say much, but they are paying close attention.
Range test in general. Usually straight line backing, offset and parallel parking. Don't hit the cones!
Driving wise - Make sure you tires don't hit any curbs and stay off the grass (anywhere)
Make sure to always scan your mirrors and gauges and certainly don't speed. Better off going a
little slower.
Don't go around corners to fast. Ramp speed, keep it 5 -10 mph under the ramp speed.
Double clutch. If you grind, it's almost expected. Think of the truck you're taking the test in lol.
Don't shift gears going over RR tracks or stop on them! Grab the next gear before going over and make sure.
Don't let your truck roll backwards at all!!!! Also, never let it "coast". Find the gear quickly, them time it. Probably taking it on a 10 speed? Easy thing to remember. Average gear at 25mph is 7th. My point? 25 mph - 2+5= 7 (As in 7th gear). Sure, you can shift up a gear, but at a 1000 rpm? 7th
you are looking both directions religiously. Remember - don't over tach the engine
Don't stop in cross walks. Know where to stop the truck before proceeding.
Lastly, you got this. Drivers will get worked up over it just to look back and say that it wasn't
that bad. You're only taking that person for a ride and showing them your skills.
I've been driving 10 years, still nothing compared to many other drivers. Everyone has great
advice, listen to us all lol. Read everything for the pre-trip before bed. Wake up, get ready and
look at the areas you may be having trouble in. You'll pass. Relax, breath and get er done!
Let us know after your test how you did! Take care and stay safe!Bless01153 and Mr Budeedee Thank this. -
