I just got done talking to a SNI recruiter and am thinking about truck driving school. I live in ILLinois and want to move out east(New jersey or East PA). He stated to transfer a liscence from anywhere to ILL is hard. I am wondering if it is hard to transfer a drivers liscense from ILL to NJ or PA. Additionally I want to do tankers. Also is east coast driving that much harder that mid-west (why is pay higher??)?

I dont know about the transfer but northeast driving has a lot more traffic to deal with. Some days i averaged 30 mph over 10 hours of driving. More roads off limits to trucks and less places to park. With the exception of chicago IL is pretty wide open.

its not hard really, just go in and do the normal process..Usually you'll walk out with a paper copy and they'll mail the hard copy in a week or so.

I dont know about NJ, but I did a reciprocity with NY and I know if you transfer in with a valid hazmat endorsement you're supposed to get it back on your license for 90 days while the new state does another redundant background check.

The dummies at the front desk didnt know and it cost me two weeks working for conway trying to get it all sorted out.
