    Thank you! I think asking question is frowned on it seems I upset my recruiter by asking questions! OK I'll sit there(anything they want to get my cdl is OK with me) but i studied that Manuel front to back for 4 months before taking the permit test also bought 5 different cdl permit help aids from the internet with on average 250 test questions each. about 200.00 not to mention the money spent on information on hazmat,tanker and doubles along with the free cdl material offered on line. Its just I could of saved a lot of money if I had just waited and done it their way. Seems I wasted time and money to have to go thru it again anyway? and still no closer to getting my cdl it seems. I drove with a NC cdl-a from 1982-1995 and made the mistake in downgrading to regular license, I was making so much money during the Iraq war with the DOD(contractor) and wasn't driving never thought i need it again. big mistake!!!!!!!! But nothing is gonna stop me unless I die that's the only way I don't get them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lots of corruption in the license dept. a few yrs ago Illinois was busted cause with a bunch of cash you could just walk out with a full fledged class A,,,over 6000 drivers on the loose. I think Swift ( inadvertently ) allowed students to get tested out by a 3rd party tester,,,that just collected cash,,in exchange for permits etc. how would Celadon know you didn't get yours that way...? One of those CYA things you will be learning...good luck.

    Even if you do have to sit thru class you will still be miles ahead of the others. I also plan on getting all my tests done before going to school. You have a great attitude, you'll do just fine....Good Luck !

    One big disadvantage to getting your permit early is that the permit has a time limit.
    Getting it with the group makes sure it will be valid through the training period.
