Is it possible to connect a cell phone to a t.v. monitor in the truck so you can watch the netflix movies or tv shows. I just can't enjoy a movie watching it on a rinky dink screen like a phone.

Short answer is yes. My phone has a HDMI out. A mini one. You will need a cable that fits into the HDMI out on the phone and then on the other end one large enough to fit the TV HDMI in. There may be other ways but that works for my phone.

If the tv is a fancy one with Wi-Fi and has the ability to access online content, all you need is a phone that can be a hot spot.

If you have an iPhone, you can purchase an "Apple TV" for $99. It connects to your flat screen via HDMI and then allows you to wirelessly "push" anything on your phone or iPad directly to the television. It also lets you login to your Netflix account and other accounts to watch movies and such.

Or if you have Android you'd have to jailbreak the phone because they are rigged to only play home movies and Youtube when the Hdmi is connected.

I tether my phone to my laptop, and my laptop to my tv via hdmi. Allows me to browse on my laptop while I use the extend option for dual monitors and put my netflix screen on the tv.

With an Iphone you can buy a cable that will have either hdmi or rca plugs on it to go from the iphone/ipod/ipad to the tv. Some Androids have the ability with either a cable or dlna but some will need to be rooted in order for it to play more than pictures or home movies
