I currently have U.S. Cellular and have had horrible luck with them. I don't know if it is the actuall phone or the servise but I am always haveing dropped calls and poor signal strenght. I am going to be getting a new phone before I start driving next month and was wondering what everyone has been useing and what works the best. Have had sprint before in the past and was somewhat happy with them.

I had Verizon Wireless and LOVED them. Worked almost everywhere and they always given excellent customer service...I have them for about 6 years w/o a problem one. Matter of fact, I made this site on a Verizon Wireless AirCard on my laptop.

Despite the craziness that Wiseone speaks of, I have had sprint for the last six years and no problems, not even a billing error. My only problem which really isnt a problem, is that on I80 in Lexington NE, until Cheyenne(minus larger cities) its rare for me to get a text message.

I also had USC when I started trucking. I hated it after awhile and I tried 2 different phones so I'm sure it was the service. I switched to Verizon 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I also have an air card threw them and I can only remember one place I have parked where I couldn't get online (Junction TX, I-10 mm. 4??) I would also look into getting a Wilson Cell Amp and the Wilson Trucker Cell Antenna to go with it. For those together you are looking at about $325 but I have made it all the way across I-80 threw WY with out dropping the a call. Some times the weather will mess with you and not let you get away with that but on a good night you have nothing to worry about. Also if you get a Verizon air card and the amp get the amp adapter to fit a LG VX8100 phone. This is the same adapter the air cards take so you can get high speed internet just about any wear.

I have sprint too and never have a problem with them. There will be dead spots every were but that can not be helped.

I have had sprint for 11 years. I travel all over the country and have almost no problems.

Yes years ago they did suck.

They do have terrable customer service. Just like the commercials on tv that their compition use to make fun of sprint.

I had sprint phone and air card, now still have sprint phone but verizon air card works everywhere, sprint did not, when my contract on cell is up will go with verizon on phone. I have helped many other drivers when they could not use their cell phones in fringe and no service areas. Verizon is the best so far for me.

I am interested in Verizon but it is not offered in my area. So is the next best thing Sprint then. Sprint is offered. I am pretty sure I am not going with USC again...especially if i am not the only one who has had problems.

I have Cingular and I haven't had a problem yet. Also, more than half of my family and friends are on Cingular so that makes it cheaper for me to call everyone. Their high speed data is pretty good too especially the 3G.
