cement truck or semi?

    Have done it and regional. That's why I own my own truck.
    Most companies don't care how well you back up, just that you can. (swift comes to mind)
    If you want a home life, go drive mixer. If your single go OTR.
    Look at your own expences first, being on the road takes some cash.
    Get some experience at something, being a newbie you'll need it, then you can pick exactly what you want to do.

    Hotrod is right you need experience at something after that you can start picking and choosing.

    One thing to be said for local work is that once you have a local job it's easier to find local work. When your only home 3 days out of the month it's really hard to interview. Also you get to the local guys and more then likely you can get one of them to give you a reference. That's how it works around here anyway.
