I'm thinking it's a Conestoga or something similar where you slide everything to the front or back to open and close. I'm pretty sure it's not a curtain van, which you just open the sides of the trailer.
Getting ready to head over to pick up my last load (god the foreseeable future anyway) on the quad fleet. Here's to hoping they give me a nice big square load. Righhhhht.

I still play pickup basketball when I can, my first sport. I'll never be able to grow out of it, even if it's just shooting around. I got lucky with football, there are definitely bones that should have snapped in half but I guess I'm just farm boy strong.
Hope you had a blast down yonder. I really wanna go to New Zealand in the near future. We shall see. -
I'm thinking about going to cotc. Is the pay pretty consistent?
KF7WTV and Weeble Kneeble Thank this. -
For me the pay has been consistent. It took a dip during the holidays, but I also requested to be home for those holidays to be with my girlfriend. Now things are back to normal.
Once I get my new setup, I'll have a better idea what to expect stateside. I expect more miles since I'll have more real estate to run around in, and no tarping to deal with.KF7WTV Thanks this. -
Do your normally get Pre-plan's the night before you drop so you can get all the planning out of the way?
Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
On the quad fleet I do. If I didn't have one the day before I dropped, I always call in to check in on things. Communication is everything, I plan on doing the same thing once I'm on the Western 11. I've called in everyday this week to my new driver coach to see how things are going as far as my equipment availability, how I'll be getting home, whether I'll be getting loaded before or after the weekend, and when I'll be at the yard so that they know when to have things ready. Things are more productive and efficient when everyone is on the same page

Let me know how things go running the western 11. I may be coming to join you soon. Getting a bunch of BS local work that they are trying to not pay me for and they refuse to pre plan me half the time despite constant request.

I will keep you posted. Delivered this morning in Madras and then went down to the yard to swap out of the quad and into the semi. I moved into a 2013 T660 with 59xxx on the clock. It has the Paccar motor and has the 72" bunk as opposed to the 62" I had on the quad fleet, and let me tell you, it makes a world of difference. I'm hooked up to a 2004 Ravens 48' spread with a roll top, they have a new rear flap on order since the one on there now has seen better days. I had a mechanic show me how to finagle this contraption and it's easy enough. I definitely think this is going to work out better, it'll be less stress and better for me from a physical standpoint. I'm gonna get the new setup a run through the Streakin' Beacon and then I'll put them up here.
Today I ran an empty up to Madras while they took care of a few things on my trailer, got an 1.5 of hourly pay for that. What it is, I don't know, but it's better than nothing. Monday morning I'll be picking in Halsey, OR that has a drop in Prineville, OR and finals out in Memphis, TN. It'll be nice to stretch my legs out again, and it should be easier on the shoulder. From there, they are trying to get me to Maine. After I have this visit at home, I'll be running Western 11 with an occasional run out east for things such as this. I already have a real good feeling about this switch.
Have a great weekend everybody.KF7WTV, double yellow, jomar68 and 2 others Thank this.
