I am writing this post in response to a previous post I had created on about some issues I had with a certain trainer. In the post I will honestly say that I was pissed at the time I created it. After venting and talking to people on the forum, co-workers, and family...I will say that I was in the wrong to put the blame on Central Refrigerated. My personal experience with a trainer has NOTHING to do with the company itself. Did the company tell the trainer to treat me the way he did? No.

So I am here to let fellow drivers and possible future Central employees that Central went above and beyond my expectations to get the issue resolved ASAP. I sent an email to the training manager this morning around 0400 this morning, before passing out for the night. I explained my issues and concerns with my trainer and how i felt i was not getting quality/adequate training I felt I needed to be a safe driver while out on the road. I wanted to make sure that I was not going to be a hazard to myself and to those around me while I am driving. That was something I felt I was not getting.

Anyways, I woke up this morning to having 2 voicemails from Central employees. Both were VERY apologetic and professional in the way they responded to the situation at hand. On top of the two voicemails I had received while asleep, within 30 minutes of being awake, I had received two more calls on top of that. Personally, I felt that Central was VERY concerned about one of their employees, trainee or full fledged driver. It was nice to know that they cared. So I would personally like to apologize to any current/previous/future emoployee, for what I may have said negative about Central Refrigerated in my previous thread. It was never my intent to "taint" Central just because of one persons experiences. My experience was with one trainer, not the company itself. I already have a new trainer and will be leaving in the AM. I look forward to getting the training I need to become a safe solo driver.

Thank you to all of the input from other forum members, positive and/or negative. And my word of advice, if having issues or concerns, is to just communicate. I would, and WILL, recommend Central Refrigerated as a company that cares about their employees. Yes, every company has its plus and minuses, but for Central to give me an opportunity, when not many other local jobs will due to lack of experience, it means a lot.

If you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask me, or even other drivers on this forum.

Welcome to trucking and dealing with a trucking company.
Communication is one of the biggest parts of your job. If you communicate well, you can do well. If you communicate poorly, then you will do poorly.
Granted, in some situations you will do poorly even with good communication. But it greatly increases your chances of doing well.
And is one of the big places where drivers screw up. Then put everything on the company when they are broke.

I will say that if my DM isn't giving me the miles, then it is the companies fault. If its my fault, poor trip planning, poor financial smarts, then yes...that is on me. I got a second trainer and I learned more from him in 3 days than I did with my first in 2 weeks. And my second trainer could tell. Felt like I had 4 weeks worth of info crammed into 2 weeks. It was worth it though, I feel confident while out there on my own though.
