Thats a big 10-4----------when i left Central a couple of years ago, they had just stripped part of the parking lot for Swift
trucks.
-
When I worked for them a few years ago. I once picked up a loaded CF trailer at a gravel Swift lot on the west side of the Hoover Dam before you get to Las Vegas. I clearly remember, because the last driver (literally) dropped the loaded trailer in a hole. The trailer was so low and heavily loaded, I could not get the crank to raise the trailer, so I had to call maint for a wrecker and they didn't believe me I was in a swift yard.

when i saw it i almost didnt believe it

Jerry owns both company's, so they are not actually owned by the same company, just affiliated by the owner.
Central has a flatbed fleet in West Valley city. They made part of the lot in the main terminal into swift parking, and they can fuel at that terminal.
He also owns Central Freight.
Several of Central refrigerated drop yards are used by both, and the old Irvine yard was a Central Freight yard.
They also sell accts back and forth at times. Central has sold swift a few dry freight ones here and there and swift sold Central allot of refrigerated accts.
Sorry, had to jump in. I hate when people think Central is owned by Swift lol.
Actually it could more easily go the other way. Since for a few years Jerry did not own Swift, but he owned Central that whole time. -
Due to the lack of stuff moving back & forth from SLC & Vegas right now the Flat bedders are now running the western states. Almost always have 1 or 2 down at the Fontana yard these days & because the Central flat beds are not permitted in all states they have gotten a bunch of trailers from Swift.

I'm really surprized noboby has asked this,,,,"do they use special tarps?"
-
Yup. Refrigerated tarps to the shtuff nice and cold. Otherwise, it just wouldn't be a Central Refrigerated flatbed now, would it?
-
So that explains why the sudden appearance of a bunch of flatbeds in WVC over the past month or two. From my understanding, most of the flatbed was for one or two projects. I have yet to see someone pulling one myself, just saw a few of the trailers pop up in the WVC yard. Thanks for the info.
