when the ford wont crank its 90 precent of the time the fuel cut off switch has poped. just push the button in and it should crank right up.

I have a ford truck with a cummins engine and a Allison transmission. LOL! What about that? Talk about a redheaded stepchild!
Green_20 Thanks this. -
god gave you ford personality.
gm's never give me a problem. and that's all i've ever owned minus one mazda glc 25 years ago. -
not talking about the cut off switch. that thing will pop out just going over a rail road track. had lots of cars towed in after a little bump on some tracks.
ford has sensors that prevent it from starting when the fluids get low. like who the heck cares if the a/c is low in the middle of winter.
i retired 13 years ago. so all i heard at that time was just the news. i couldn't say if it actually became a reality.
somebody was also working on a starterless starting system. can't remember who. but obviously that idea hasn't panned out yet. something about shooting some gas in whatever piston happened to be just past top dead center compression stroke and igniting the mixture. forcing the piston downward and the motor turning all without a starter motor. -

no, it was the higher end cars. such as the lincoln town car.
the taurus isn't high end. it's a family car that ended up being the biggest POS ford ever built. or any manufacture for that matter.
the SHO was also a rare engine. not that many high performance taurus's were built. the only one i ever saw with the SHO engine was sitting in a junk yard 2 years ago. -
buddy of mine has a 04 ford ranger and his fuel cut off would cut out if he took a corner to quick. He took it in 3 times and every time they would say oh theres nothing wrong with it and send it back to him. i finally ordered him a new switch and replaced it because they hadn't it even bothered to do that and he has not had a problem with it since. Thank God my Chev 1500 dont have one of them... never had a problem with that beast 250k and still rolling hard *knock on wood*

ford is the only one with that switch. it was installed for crash purposes. shutting the engine down.
