I make about $12 dollars an hour at my current job. My recruiter tells me I would average 2500-3000 miles a week and my cpap is not an issue but
I know how recruiters can be I was in the military as well. Since I live in Oregon I am wondering if I will get home very often. Is Central a decent company to work for? The company I work for now is not. I just want to
drive and make at least a decent living.

Anyone want to buy some chrome lug nut covers? Cheap.... They dont look good on my volvo!

I have a 360 on board too! I just need to wait until Oct to upgrade my phone to the Sprint EVO 4g then ill be playing online. ;)

Sitting here at my 99 which delivers at 0500. I almost talked Jimmy Dean Foods into turning my load into a drop n hook. The lady in the office called the yard dog and he said that there were no empties. My next load ia a cheese load for 480 miles over the weekend. :biggrin_25513: WTF is that?!?! Well the good thing about it is i get a desparately needed 34. That team run coming off hometime really F-ed me. As of today i used up about 60 hours and barely have enough time to get to my next 99. So next weeks settlement i wrote off as a crap week and hope they give me a 1200-1500 mile load on Mon that I can turn in for next week and have a great week.
I think next week's settlement will be a small one as of monday I will only have about 1600. :biggrin_25513:

as a former driver from central i can tell u that although there are drivers out there that can make good miles dont count on it at first... the recruiter will tell u anything to get you to go to thier school as they get paid from the government for each able body they get in to the school... i am not saying that central may not be for you but do yourself a favor and look back not just at the last 20 pages but go even deeper and compare the pros and cons that all the drivers out there have voiced in on then make a decision, and be prepared if u go to the school and flunk out or get sent home because of your sleep ap they will still try to charge u the tuition amount... bottom line is read everything closely and dont sign a thing unless u are ready to give them money for nothing if u have to leave..... to everyone else out there BE SAFE AND GODS SPEED TO ALL OF YOU!!

Once again catching up from the last day or so...

Trying to get back to normal hours, been runnin splits since this 3 day safety blitz started. If I'd got pulled in they would've had fun decrypting my logs. Only pulled into one coop the whole time, and they gave me the bypass around the scales.

    Hometime?

Chapter 73, section 9 covers how to run a 4000mi week and only show 60hrs.

Runnin solo is easy if you can thrive on chaos!

I believe (maybe) the Sima(?) drives are pure sinewave. Lots of things won't run good on that squarewave stuff.

Helped a l/o today figure out the air release for his tandems. He didn't know ya needed air pressure to release the pins. Where do they get some of these people?

Well my run to NC is actually a run to TN. Seems somebody missed a letter entering the location code. I knew something was wrong when the load had to much time on it.

You aren't going to average that. As someone who's been with the company over 3 years, I will eat my International if you go a year getting that milage every week. Better plan on averaging 2000 a week for the entire year.

I run team, but I still know enough drivers that drive solo to know that the milage is not consistantly there. One load you can't drop, one break down, heck, even needing a 34 can throw off that 2500-3000 like it's nothing.

Depends on the part of OR you're in. I just moved back to the Portland area, and like someone else said, there's a drop yard in Milwaukie. It's nothing more than that, but you can leave your trailer there, and probably your tractor if you have to.

There's freight here. If you end up on Coors, we deliver to Oregon Transfer all the time, and somewhere down in Springfield now. For reefer loads, there's safeway, Albertson's, Winco, Fred Meyer, Sysco and a half dozen other places to deliver, plus the dry freight. I once delivered soap up by the Airport. So there's freight home.

To get out, you'll usually haul Fred Meyer Loads, nursery, or christmas trees, depending on the time of year. We also haul frozen veggies out, and if they have to, they can run you out towards Yakima for produce.

If you're trying to get home without taking home time, it's tougher. You can do it once in a while, but don't get your hopes up. And, if you come to work for Central, befriend Darrell, he's the NW planner. Nice guy, but he won't take crap from you, so don't screw up his loads. If he knows you're reliable, he'll use you and help you out.

It was chaos for me, I'll be glad to have her back in the truck. Heck, I can't even sleep in the non moving truck anymore.

They get the L/o by dangling a $100 bill on a fishing pole out in the detention center. They just reel it ever so slowly. The one's that don't figure it out are the folks who lack knowledge of air release or drop suspension, or how to chian, or how to proerly unhook. you know, trucking 101.

Well... thought it was gonna be an easy day. Was supposed to pick up a preloaded trailer, but instead I've been waiting for it to get loaded for 4 hours and still counting. Meanwhile everyone who has come in behind me has come and gone, including preloaded central trailers.

Once again I should've known a load with enough time to make it a comfortable run instead of a frantic dash would have problems.
