Well, As much as I agree with you on their cranial lacadasical lack of abilities, the only folks (outside of my daily m-f dm) that I have dealt with that cogitate are the OTRM folks. Also, hats off to the maintenance folks in Henderson. Great attitude and response to the needs of the company driver.

In my experience, OTRM doesn't know the oil filter from the left steer tire...try calling them more than once for the same issue, you will get multiple answers and none of them will be correct.

I must have been fortunate. They diagnosed a level valve problem instantaneously. They did push me to limp into a shop with a tread separation, but I would rather repair in a shop than wait for road service any day.
There is an unanswered issue concerning coolant level and the Volvo engine protection sensor that apparently cuts engine power, just when you need it....such as an on ramp. I could only cure by "re-cycling". Turn off ignition, let the engine settle and restart. Fine if you are by the side of the road, but when trying to accellerate to highway speed up an on-ramp not so fun.
Obviously the answer is add coolant. The odd thing is my rig wants that coolant level very high in the reservoir or it bucks, snorts and chugs upon attempted accelleration.Last edited: Aug 10, 2010

they just give me an address to a pete dlr every time...lol. I get my oil changed at TAs or peetros since I'm NEVER around any terminal.
got next load already... It's already late before it was even given to me! -
I keep having to tell them I won't go to Kenworth, find me a Cummins dealer!
-
Well I don't have the license problem but do need to get a new DOT card. Mine runs out next month. Surprised I'm not getting daily msg's about it.
I was never with CRS but am pretty sure all mega carriers are about the same in the way they operate. -
another day, another busted trl...
this one is a busted mudflap. The bar mounting the mudflap was so bent that the mudflap was dragging on the ground and when the shipper shagged the trl to load it, the mudflap was ripped from the bar and was help on by 1 bolt. So I busted out my drill and put a new hold for a bolt and secured it until I can get to TA in Ann Arbor.

Just gotta love these tlr's, eh. I did a swap today and was in such a hurry to pick up this load thats taking me home, that I just didn't do a good PTI. Out of 8 tlr tires, 4 have problems. 2 with nails that are holding air ok...for now, 1 with an irregular wear pattern, and 1 that is leaking air in the sidewall, where they recapped it.
TA in Greensboro, NC for me in the morning.
Gonna end up only being a day late getting home. YEA!!!! -
Home finally! Haven't seen this place since May. Fortunately my son was home this summer to keep the grass mowed. Still have tons to do and going back on the road isn't high on the list. Hopefully soon will have regional route that will get more pay and more home time.

Boy, that having to go OOR to get the tire fixed is sure screwing with me. Will make the final tomorrow with no problem. Its the finding a trk stop afterwords, before I hit my 70, that worries me.
JimBob, glad you finally made it home. Sure hope your enjoying it. 3 months b4 HT..... dang but I'm glad I'm just a company driver. I start to go batty after 4 weeks out here!!!!!!Last edited: Aug 11, 2010
