Sorry about that bud! I went back and re-read it and I saw the difference. I do understand about taking the good with the bad, but I don't think I could stay out as long as you have to make ends meet. I will be getting a nice disability check from the VA for service related injuries, so I think I will stay a company driver (If I can make it that far).

By looking at your numbers, I would be hard pressed at making it home once a month to make ends meet. I do have some business background, and I don't think this would be for most newbie’s. I'm glad to see that you make it work for you. Hopefully between you and ChromeDome and the knowledge you two have, you will be able to help newer drivers to become a success at the lease op/owner op in this business....

    Take care and drive safe!

Well, Just got my stub for what I'll get tomorrow. Not pretty. $390.00 after my expenses. Now next week should be good ~ 3900 miles if I did my deadhead calculations correct and I have a jump on a load I pick up early tomorrow morning (last day of the week).

One thing you also notice missing is a lot of scale fees. I tend to pay cash for most because it is easier and faster than doing comdata and it all reflects as an expense at tax time with my receipts. I don't scale every single load either. I'm used to most of the loads I run so I'll skip scales where I can and just use the susp/load gauge if I know the gross is less than 46,000 for most. It gets hairy around 46k-47k since my tractor is heavy on the nose.

    Here's the stub:

Tripak is also known as Thermoking Auxiliary Power Unit. It is another source for a/c and heat. They cut down on idling and conserve fuel.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum but have been reading about the different carriers that offer training for you CDL and job placement afterward, and I think I have decided to go with Central. Does anyone have any opinions or advice about that decision... I have looked into PAM, USA, and swift. I'm also reading alot of stuff on these forums that people go into a training program only to be jobless when they get their CDL...how true is this for these companies? Anyone had an experience like this or has been trained and hired recently please share. Thank you.

Should have a mech do it to get it done right. They'll have to run a diesel line for the heater plus plumb in all the air conditioning components. Its reall a big job.
Basically, a tripak is just a big 12 volt generator. Fule lines would have to be run to it plus power lines and blah blah.
