Lupe please don't take this a being mean but I know it was either in this thread or in another one you asked these questions before. If it was another thread you will get a lot of the same answers here that you got there. Now as no question is a stupid question except the ones unasked.

If you are a company driver if you live withing 100 miles of a truck stop you cant take the truck home with you. And they normally make you drop the trailer in a drop yard so another driver can take it.

The refer is no that loud but when your sitting it vibrates the truck depending on how old it is. The newer ones you don't notice as much.

The sound of the truck is defend when you have to doors closed and the windows up. Sure you will still feel it a bit or hear that it is running but its not as bad as you may think.

Lupe, I think the point is this.
If your the kind of person that has to have NO NOISE around when you sleep, This is not the line of work for you.
Either the truck will keep you up, the refer will keep you up or the truck and or ref parked next to you will keep you up!

I am worried about this same thing... My wife is the kind of person that every little noise will keep her up.... and she is going to by my co-driver....

What is tlrs? So do Central have both new and old trucks, so that if you are unlucky you can end up with an old truck that's very loud?

The oldest truck they have is a 2007.
    That is not exactly old.
Some of the trailers are old. And that is what he was talking about.
Many of those have had newer reefer units put on them though. So not too many of the really old ones left.
You get use to the sound though, and after a while you may find it hard to sleep without it. It is like a gentle hum in the background.
Unless you are in the truck next too it with your windows open when it cycles.
Then it is an annoying piece of #$%^.

OK, it happened and I am pissed/upset. I got a catfish load out of Miss. and my second stop yesterday was at Inland Seafood in Atlanta. Has anyone ever been there? First of all, you have no choice but to blindside it and second of all, there is a wall maybe 20 feet from the nose of parked trucks, plus there is parked trucks. Well, to make a long story short, the upper rear corner of my trailer hit the top door frame and made a dent(this was with a spotter and me getting out to look about 5 times.). Really not bad damage, I would guess a few hundred bucks. Called accident dept, took pictures, etc.. Accident dept. said not to worry, just have the guy at inland call them. Really a minor thing right? I called and spoke to accident dept. and unfortunately, something very minor like this will be going on my DAC as a preventable. That sucks, but I can guarantee you, I will never hit anything when backing again. Lesson learned.

They put everything on the DAC.
Central put me down for a preventable when I scratched a trailer at a shipper.
i reported it to the shipper. They came out and took pictures. I had to point out the scratch, since they could not see it.
They were not concerned and said that they would not be submitting a claim since it was just minimal cosmetic damage.
Central put it on my DAC anyway.
Then they put on a non-preventable when I hit a deer. That one did no damage at all to my truck.
It bounced off. Left a few hairs in the license plate and spit on the grill. But it still made it to my DAC.
Neither of these had effected my ability to get a job at all btw. All they put on the DAC was 1 preventable incident and the date. Hitting a parked trailer.
The other did not even say what happened. Just the date and non-preventable. No damage.

    The Challenger Thanks this.

Others please correct me if I'm wrong... but from what I can understand - just like a credit report reports your credit and how you are at paying bills etc... a DAC is a 'performance report' - if you dinged a trailer, late for a load, abandoned a vehicle... I don't think they ever put good stuff on there - so the less on there the better. At least that's how I've interpreted it.
