Central Refrigerated Truck Stop

Went to a real small store last night, they only have 2 docks, get there and there is another truck that hit a yellow pole and had it wedged between his tandoms and dot bumper and the way he was stuck had the second dock blocked. Finally convinced him to drop his trailer so I could do what I needed to do. Have a feeling he is going to be asking people if they want fries with their orders real soon.

 

You don't really need to go, just skim through this thread. You will read praises and gripes about the company and trucking in general. most people have a love hate relationship with trucking. they love to hate it but they generally like the job.

 

Good thing I can communicate with my DM via laptop. Seems my brand, spankin new QC has gone on the fritz. Was working when I pulled into Norfolk, NE but hasnt sent or rcv'd anything in almost 2 hrs now. Should I be happy or sad? BTW, still use paper so am good there.

 

Yeah Ive been surfing around here for a couple weeks and have kinda been on the fence up until last night... Ive pretty much decided I am gonna take the leap and fill out the paperwork while I am there tomorrow so wish me luck!

I was suppose to start crs scholl on monday. But i called my recruiter just to make sure everything was ok because ive read alot of stories of people being sent home. And because i was fired from my last job i cant start school. What a bummer!!!!

 

Can anyone recommend another company that pays for your training thats almost as good as crs. I had my mind set on going here since ive heard so many positive things.

 

Most carriers are about the same as far as training, CRS, Swift, Werner, Schneider, Prime Inc, TMC, CR England. They are all decent starter companies, I happen to work for Werner now but started with CRS only reason I'm at werner is I'm on walmart dedicated. From what I've seen they seem to be a decent company to train with too. Not too familier but if you have questions I'm sure I can find an answer for you.

 

I hope so too now running from VA back to SLC - LOL!

 

Don't foget Stevens also for training. Think they have their own CDL school also.
