Was it their form of body position such as not bending knees and straight back while lifting that the person failed? How did the person that failed do the lift out of curiosity? Thanks ..

The person that failed was an older lady and she had trouble carrying the 75# of weight around the room. All the others were plain stupidity. One guy had a gun charge and that was it.

Anyone know how a DUI would hurt someone way back from 1984? I didn't think it would be a problem for my husband but now that we have started putting in apps I'm starting to wonder.

The best advice I can offer is to call them and ask!!

Central have a lot of people apply everyday and roughly half the people who go there get sent home in the first week.

My husband had a dui in 1993 and he told them about it up front and it was not an issue. Key thing is as stated more than once on this thread is to be honest with everything you have been arrested for convicted or not!

Thank you so much for his info! It turns out that on the website, in not so obvious text, above the list of recruiters, there is a phone number to call for drivers training recruits. So I called and I was able to get in touch with Ryan Williams this afternoon and he emailed me the app which I faxed back. I'm a little anxious about this and hope it works out. I've heard some horrors about some companies when it comes to women drivers. But that's not everyone so hopefully, it'll work out!

    Thanks again!

Someone up there asked about GATS, and I did not see an answer. Soooo
GATS is the "Great American Trucking Show"
It is a once a year gathering and is HUGE.
If you could possably want it for your truck it is there.
If it has anything to do with trucking it is there.

As for the question to me.
    Flat is slow.
They had me fill out info for unemployment, due to lack of work.
I will be on call, and working as much as they can work me though.
Problem is figuring out where to file.
My current company is out of PA, I filed there, but had not worked in the state enough last year to claim there.
Was going to file for Utah, but then I noticed that Central used an employer number in my state NY, so I am now filing there. Pain in the rear.
NY will take extra time also though, because all they ask for on the app is last employer, well that is in PA....not NY. So now I have to wait for them to say no, then use the Central info.

This is a pain. Just for those weeks that I dont make 400 bucks. Which is rare.
I worked 3 days last week and made 600 lol. I will really have to have a bad week to need it. But glad they had us fill it out as a just in case measure.

Do the trucks you get assigned from Central come equipped with CB's, satellite radio, inverters or do you have to get them yourselves? I know you have to get your own GPS for obvious reasons but what do the trucks come with? Also at SLC do they have computers with internet that the students can use occasionally? Thanks

A Cd Player thats's it. All the other items you listed you have to purchase.

This is incorrect, If you have not driven commercially in over two years weather you have a cdl or not based on your past employment history you can get hired on like i did but you have to need a refresher or need to obtain a new commercial license. I had a current CDL but had not driver in 6 yrs so i had to go back throught the skills test and out with a trainer. I didn't have to take the written is all. JJRanch.
