If it is at night he would contact OTRM if it was at WVC the shop stays open 24hrs. If he has mechanical issues he would contact dispatch and tell them the problems and they would pull the load from him.
If you can't get ahold of him call Russell in WVC.
It's not bad empty plus the instructors are really good and you won't be doing that on the first day. JJRanch.![]()

Hi there everyone i would just like to know some info on Central
Does anyone know if they hire in S Louisiana, do they run constantly threw I-12, can you take the truck home during your time off, is their equipment good, is there pay good for newbies, what is the speed of their trucks, do they have APUs on their trucks, are the miles good, how many miles do you average per week out, what is their home time like, how many days do you stay out to get time out, do they run you anywhere,do they treat you with respect, and overall is this a good company to work for.thank you and be safe..
-
with the economy the way it is you can avg any where from 1100 to 3400 a week. home time for company is one day off for every 7 days out. not to exceed 4 days in a month for example if you were out you 5 weeks you only get 4 days. A lease op can take as many as he wants if he can afford to do so. As a company driver i was out 5 weeks before home time. pay is 21cpm with an 8 cpm per diem with a 1/2 cent raise every 6 months.
as a lease operator i stay out 6 to 8 weeks. They run all 48 states. I really have not had any real problems the people are nice and professional they do treat you with respect as long as you treat them the same way. Central is a good starter company to get your feet in the door and to get experience but in my opinion not one to be a career driver for. JJRanch.techiekate29, rakusa and Drop'n'Hook Thank this. -
JJRanch, that is a very insightful post.

Day 4 done. 2 more people gone today. 1 failed the DMV test and 1 guy got sent home because his background check came back and he lied. Again, be honest on your application or you will be sent home. Watched some movies about safety and driving and got to see "The War Room". About 8 or more screens with weather, how many drivers are in a certain state and so on. We go out tommorow to start driving on the course. Should be an adventure.

You did say they give practice tests and that was probably a big help. -
For all you who think leaseing a truck is the way to go this week I took home a large $ 66.56 after all was paid. Next week I'm in the hole $ 700.00 I'm glad my account has money in it to pay a truck payment. I lost 5 days in 1 week sat in SLC for the weekend
then some H/T put me back. I have a student again and should hit 5,700 miles this week to bring me back up. I have a great D/M but her fleet has alot of problems with service as well as log issues somtimes I think the planner drops the **** loads on her and I get my share. I have another account that I can pull money from other then my Central account so I won't go in the hole. Make sure your on your game before you lease every day the truck sits it cost you atleast $ 125.00 a day. I wouldnt lease if I didn't train it's not worth it.
Hey Jess wassssss up.rakusa Thanks this.
