If it is at night he would contact OTRM if it was at WVC the shop stays open 24hrs. If he has mechanical issues he would contact dispatch and tell them the problems and they would pull the load from him.

If you can't get ahold of him call Russell in WVC.

It's not bad empty plus the instructors are really good and you won't be doing that on the first day. JJRanch.:biggrin_25525:

I think they do you might want to contact the recruiting dept. I have ran I 12 a time or to I delivered a load once in lafeyette. Yes you can take the truck home if you can find a secure place to drop your trailer. the oldest is 06 model trucks, mainly Volvos and prostars for company and KW900, T2000, 387 and 386 Pete's for lease op. although some company drivers have been getting some of the older off lease trucks. The company trucks run 62 the lease trucks run 65. No company trucks have APU's unless it was an old lease truck with one still on it. I have a APU but it cost me 6000 through the company and it took me a year on a waiting list to get it.

with the economy the way it is you can avg any where from 1100 to 3400 a week. home time for company is one day off for every 7 days out. not to exceed 4 days in a month for example if you were out you 5 weeks you only get 4 days. A lease op can take as many as he wants if he can afford to do so. As a company driver i was out 5 weeks before home time. pay is 21cpm with an 8 cpm per diem with a 1/2 cent raise every 6 months.

as a lease operator i stay out 6 to 8 weeks. They run all 48 states. I really have not had any real problems the people are nice and professional they do treat you with respect as long as you treat them the same way. Central is a good starter company to get your feet in the door and to get experience but in my opinion not one to be a career driver for. JJRanch.:biggrin_25525:

1100 miles a week would be painful. On Central's website the pay scale states .29cpm 1-6monts, then .30 from 6-12 months. Did they lower it to .29 1/2cpm from 6-12 months of service recently?

Day 4 done. 2 more people gone today. 1 failed the DMV test and 1 guy got sent home because his background check came back and he lied. Again, be honest on your application or you will be sent home. Watched some movies about safety and driving and got to see "The War Room". About 8 or more screens with weather, how many drivers are in a certain state and so on. We go out tommorow to start driving on the course. Should be an adventure.

Congrats Bullett888, keep up the good news. Does one need to memorize all the numbers and all in the CDL for the Gen, AB, combination veh tests? Guess what I'd like to know is do the instructors tell you what to focus on memorizing in the CDL for the test and if so can you share that info here? Thanks
You did say they give practice tests and that was probably a big help.

For all you who think leaseing a truck is the way to go this week I took home a large $ 66.56 after all was paid. Next week I'm in the hole $ 700.00 I'm glad my account has money in it to pay a truck payment. I lost 5 days in 1 week sat in SLC for the weekend :biggrin_2553: then some H/T put me back. I have a student again and should hit 5,700 miles this week to bring me back up. I have a great D/M but her fleet has alot of problems with service as well as log issues somtimes I think the planner drops the **** loads on her and I get my share. I have another account that I can pull money from other then my Central account so I won't go in the hole. Make sure your on your game before you lease every day the truck sits it cost you atleast $ 125.00 a day. I wouldnt lease if I didn't train it's not worth it.

    Hey Jess wassssss up.

    rakusa Thanks this.
