Sorry I don't, but I think 1bad does. -
There is a great old trucking song about Wolf Creek Pass.
Glad to see that all are doing well. Also glad to see that you guys are still training them RIGHT lol. -
Chrome, i've gotten alot of good information and support from here. I really am glad I found this board. There seems to be a few people that just want to talk down to you but that's everywhere. When I go out with my trainer, I probably won't be on here to much but I should have a great experience with lots of info to pass on.

The trainers recertification was supposed to sort out the good from bad trainers!!!
So far it doesn't seem to have happened.......JJ was talking to a Young guy who had been out on his own for a week and the guy had no idea how to approve his logs or even how to log!! Obviously his trainer had him drive and not learn how to do the logs, JJ spent an hr teaching him how to correct his logs and get them approved.
Same shippers he met a team who had just finished there training who couldn't back. -
I was just lucky that I knew how to do all those things when I got to Central.
I know darn well that my trainer did not teach me a darn thing accept a little more about the qualcom (which I had never seen one of before and may never again).
I would have no idea of how to use the e-log feature though, that would take some learning. I have had I think 4 LVL 1 and 4 inspections in the last year. I passed all of them, and I was running my tail off at the time of the first 3.
So I think I got the regular log book thing straight lol.
Not even getting into the driving part of the job though. If a trainer does not do all they can to help teach a new driver about how to log legally and properly they are doing a HUGE disservice to there trainee. If the trainee does not figure it out on there own they are going to loose some money. 1 from getting busted and ticketed going over hours. 2. If they are not over they may not be using the hours they have properly and thus not running the miles they can.
And not teaching how to properly back is terrable as well. They can distroy there equipment and worse others equipment. Not to mention messing with the companys safestat if it is listed as an accident. Also it is just wrong to send someone out like that.
Just about anyone can learn to back a truck up, in any situation. All it takes is time and practice. That is why they must log all those backs in there book. If they actually back up into spaces as often as the company says for them too, they will have a decent knowelege of how to do it when they get out on there own.
Even if it means that the trainer will have to spend a few extra hours a week letting the trainee practice in a shippers lot or truck stop.rakusa Thanks this. -
So if one gets an unlucky draw of a trainer does one secretly call the appropriate person and request a new trainer? If so how long of a setback is this and and how does the transfer from one trainer to another go? It would be unpleasant for the trainee if the trainer knows he complained I'll assume. Thanks

If you feel like you are not getting the proper training you think that you need you need to ask for a new one. If you are having problems with your trainer or training you need to contact Geof or Kurt in the training dept. Maybe if trainees did this more often then maybe we could get rid of some of theses bad trainers, its not really a set back as the new trainer will look at your progress so far and then pick up from where he or she had left off. you might be out an extra week but that would be all.
