Well I have been laid off. I did not see this coming and they did not give me a reason. My determination to get a better life has increased. My old employer has given me an opportunity to find a better part time opportunity.

Well I made it through day two, and what stared out at 47 is now down to 29! So far Central has meet my expectations and most of the folks there are a lot of fun and helpful. I have to say that all the info on here has been very good for what to expect, will I get rich.......no, but I knew that coming in and that's alright!

Finished Day 2 today...Like JW said...I am now known as Shaggy. Hahaha. Only in truck driving school is it kosher for an instructor to flip off students...freaking awesome. The class seems to be bonding together pretty well...except for one exception...but there will always be one. Permit test tomorrow and we'll be in the yard by Friday. Can't wait! Like JW said, they were all telling us about what to expect and to realize that trucking is NOT a 9-5 job...don't expect to get home at the drop of a hat or anything like that. Hell...as long as they keep my wheels rolling...I won't ask to go home! Money in tha bank!!!

Glen is quite a character. God broke the mold when he made him. For those that didn't go through school in Fontana/Riverside, Glen is the guy who gets students ready for the written test. He has more stories and jokes then most people I've met. Most of these stories should never be told in mixed company and a few should never be told even in a men's locker room. He's definitely from the "old school" Not a person you'll soon forget.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only student he's flipped off.
If you made it through St. Louis without missing a transition you're doing better then me. I've been through there several times and I don't think I've made it once without having to go more miles then I should have. I hate that town.
6pak does like to keep the wheels turning, doesn't he. The only way I found that would get him to stop is if you point out a gourmet coffee place that a truck can get into and out of. -
hey, I am beboppinbigun's wife and hve been following the thread through him and decided to make my own profile also. thank you all for the good info i'm looking forwrd to getting to know y'all and learning from y'all

I'm gonna have to agree with river. When I was rolling around with 6PAK he basically could tell me where every starbucks was from maine to Cali and all the little mom and pop shops in between. Its actually quite impressive.
Anyways central tryed to push a load going to washington on me during my home time. Told my DM that it was BS and it needed to be removed cause I hadn't been home for 12 weeks. All is well now home till sunday.
