Best just to carry a can of Wasp/Hornet spray. the kind that shoots a 25ft stream of bug juice. It's better than pepper spray by a long shot and legal to carry anywhere you go.

Just out of curiosity how much did they tell you to expect as far as pay once you finish training, and do you know if they hire out of Michigan ?

 

The "Barracks" are just small rooms. 2 people per room. Just a bed in them.
The food voucher is for a little place across the street. The food is ok, but nothing to write home about.
Though some of his specials are pretty good.

I checked on 1Bad's post about the cold storage vid.
That is the HUGE one in Springfield. Any trainee can get around in that one there is so much room.
I was hoping that he had one of the one I went to several times a week in Independence MO.
I have seen a vid of it before, just need to find it. All turns at that one are done with only 2-3 inches to spare on trailer and tractor. You would have your right tractor bumper 3 inches from one wall, and see side of the trailer 2 inches from the wall on that side as you made a 90 degree turn or back lol.
Tight place.

On protection.
There is nothing illegal about having a battery operated cattle prod in the truck, if you are really concerned. 90% of would be thieves look at me and change there mind fast. I am not easy prey and they know at a glance.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to check in and let you all know that I and JW got all the tests finished. We don't "officially" have our licenses until WEdnesday when we take the paperwork to DMV...but we might as well. All the tests: pre-trip, in cab, air brakes, skills, and road test are all complete! Woo hoo! Be on the road in NO TIME!

yes they hire out of michigan. pay is gonna vary by how many miles you get and who your fleet mgr is. i would say after all the deductions they take out ( school, load locks, performance bond, and fees that they charge you for) about 300 a week for the first few months now this does depend on miles and we getting into the slow season. once your fm sees you can handle the job miles will improve and money will get better its pretty tight there in the begining. after 6mo and you have kept your nose clean apply for a dedicated fleet ( coors, kraft. midwest fleet this a new fleet) they pay more and miles are more predictable.
