Sitting in Sacramento PA doing a 34 hr reset:biggrin_2554: at the receiver, we figured since we have already been here 14 hrs and JJ's hrs were getting realllllllllllll skinny Why not just have a lil rest and then see how next weeks miles pan out.

JJ talked to 6Pak about Coors Dedicated and he is thinking of giving it a try the miles can't be any worse then they are right now!

woohoo! Finally got in touch with my recruiter. She is going to pull my clean MVR today and then call me back for a date to start school! I loved reading all these posts, granted I skipped from about page 250-600. :biggrin_25522:

Cool. I'd be the bearded guy wearing skate shoes and possibly a brown NRA hat (if TSA doesn't lock me up for it); name's Brian. Where are you coming from?

I am a student at central. I appreciate you starting this thread. I was out 1 week with my trainer had a medical problem sent me home. should be cleared up in a week. They told me i could get reinstated as long as it is under 30 days. I hope to be able to get another trainer and get back out there. I like running for them and have been satisfied so far.

Wow what an ugly day here in the SE becareful if your traveling down here today. So got a question for everyone. How old is to old to go back to school? Be seriously thinking about it and just not sure if I'm to old now to manage school, a husband and kids. Just want to see what everyone thinks.

Hey newtruckerwidow: It's never too late to go back to school. As a high school dropout I went to Navy SEAL training and had the wonderful opportunity to see the last 18 months of Vietnam. My combat experience gave me the insight (duh) to go back to school. While in the Navy I finished high school, finished college, and finished graduate school. Since retiring from the Navy in 1996 I have had myriad positions including college professor, high school teacher, and overall general flunkey. I have been out of work for 30 months mainly because my Master's Degree is in Human Resources Management (the worst field in the world). I personally enjoyed going to school and learning about things I'd never heard of. The degree simply states to your prospective employer that you have what it takes to "finish" and get the job done. The education didn't make me any better or smarter than anyone else, it just proved to me that I could actually "get-r-done," and of course it is a certain requirement for many jobs. I decided to become a truck driver mainly because it is something I've never done, and I wanted to see a little of the USA while getting paid to travel. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to start something new at this point of my life, and I'm truly excited about driving "those big rigs." I don't normally give advice; however, if I was younger I would think seriously about the medical field. They're always searching for more employees. Depending upon where you live will also determine how many jobs are available. I am a living example that even a "poor simpleton from the sticks of Georgia" can get educated. You can do it, if you remember two little words, "never quit." I wish you all the luck in the world. By the way, I was in the Navy, over 40, helping my wife raise four teenagers, playing Navy, standing duty, going to sea, and coaching little league football and baseball, and I still found time to go to school and study. Just depends on how bad you want to get educated. Regards, Scott
