widow my accounting class has an on line component to it... And I find that I do better in my other classes. That I actually have an Instructor for. I don't know if is just because of the "Adult interaction" Or if it is because if I have a problem I can actually talk to someone about it. My computer class is a perfect example. Doing work at our own pace...But the instructor is great. She never thinks any question is beneath her. Next term I might be bald though...LOL Accounting Algebra...Business law...Oh wait Nueromuscular relaxation techniques...(had to take a gym class to get my degree either that or yoga..)

Take everything on the list of things to have for training over the road. That list is all over this site.
Be prepared to have your own way home, be it money for bus/plane or a ride from someone.
The physical exertion test is a breeze as long as you aren't a couch potato. Lift 25, then 50 then 75 pounds in a basket from floor to three different heights three times each. Then carry the same about the distance of a trailer three times. Then balance on one foot for ten seconds, touch your toes, crab squat and walk. Keep your heart rate under about 150 or so.

If you have ANY kind of open litigation for ANY reason, stay home and look somewhere else. Even a minor infraction (non-misdemeanor) that is open will disqualify you no matter what your recruiter says.

Don't have any kind of drug history they could ever find out. One driver was fired over the weekend for a misdemeaner marijuana charge from 1998.

Don't try to cover any convictions or non-convictions. One guy in our orientation tried to hide a three year old case, but they easily found it out and he was out before noon first day.

Don't think for a second you're going to be able to have a pet in your truck. NO PETS no matter what your recruiter says.

Be ready to pass the written test BEFORE you go. Study time is pretty much non-existent and asking questions is about impossible unless they call on someone with the same question right off. They don't seem to like asking more than once if there are any questions.

Be sure to have lots of warm clothing. You can do your laundry on site. You will probably be standing outside waiting your turn in a truck more often than inside the building or in a truck.

Be ready to sit around a couple of days to a week before you get a trainer and hit the road, and get a different trainer if you end up with one of the human trash bags I met there. One guy pulled in and opened his door and two half-full pee jugs fell out along with other trash, all of which he kicked up against the retaining wall and left there. It was still there when the poor guy who got assigned him was told to leave one of his two pieces of luggage at the terminal or mail it home, and that he had ten minutes to do so or the trainer was leaving without him and putting him down as "a refusal".

Your room the first week is in the company building and is a ten by twelve or so cinderblock room with a bunkbed and one outlet and a small window and one chair. It does have its own heat/ac though. Pray you don't get a snoring bunkmate. High priced vending machines in building, otherwise it's a long walk to any other kind of food. Nice showers, one microwave in entire building, no fridge.
Second week is with four other guys in a single room at the hotel and you have to caravan in the company van back and forth.
Wal-Mart trips almost everyday from the company building, but only on request from hotel to company building and back and forth.
Leave nothing laying around! Things are said to grow legs.

    Famous0887 Thanks this.

Dunno, but I'd doubt it. I'd say 'ask your recruiter', but....lmao
It sure as heck shouldn't. You can make a call to their corporate offices and ask to speak to someone in security. I strongly suggest it.
At the very least, report that you're in a divorce to the recruiter, and to be sure call and speak to security.
And do not let your ex know where you're applying if there is any kind of difficulty with that person. I am pretty sure they can make a quick call and claim anything and it would result in your being ousted on orientation day.
They seem a decent company overall, just so strict that they loose good drivers for crappy reasons, but retain human trash because they lie or cover up well.
