I agree with you. there's still a lot who don't know what their getting into.

Although, I havn't made a penny all year, so anything is an improvement for me. And it seems most of the students here are in the same boat. It's tough to find any job out there right now.

I'm hoping to atleast put in my year.

Let's hope the economy and miles improve.

OK here's some advice I've never seen on here. If you are given a loaner truck go through it with a fine tooth comb before leaving the lot with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well here I sit at the TA in Cheyenne, Wy. Drove thru the night to make my delievery and OMG was it cold. Can't remember the last time I saw temps in the neg. Got down to -2 at one point.
Am supposed to deliever a load of near beer to North Platte in the morning. Ain't going to happen tho. Am about 3.77 hrs away but only have 2.75 on the clock. Won't have a late against me tho since they knew about it before the load was accepted. Looks like I'll do a reset here and be there bright and early Monday morning, hoping they'll be in a good mood and take me. Whats bad, is that they don't even have anybody in this area to do a swap with.
Going to be home by Thur. night and boy am I ready.

I agree. Why would anybody want to drink a "lite" beer is beyond me. Must be aliens as far as I'm concerned. :biggrin_25523:

At least yours was a deer. I got hit by an old Schnieder truck at Pilot in
Crossville TN. This idiot was flying through the parking lot and tried to
squeeze between my parked truck and another guy who was backing into the spot next to me. So much for the theory that you won't get hit as easy when you don't park on the end. The guy slowed down until he seen two other drivers chasing him down, the he just drove out of the lot and left.
So after two hours with the police and Central, I have a pretty white Pete with 2/3 of a front bumper and grill. That just made my day.

Hello to all you Central Lovers: I'm finishing my first week of training in Conley, and other than freezing today, it's been a fairly informative and productive week. I do find all of the comments on this forum to be very informative. I am in Conley because this place may be the best of several evils, I haven't been employed in a very, very long time, and quite frankly, this is the first place to actually give me a chance. I wish the best for all of you who plan to leave Central, and when the time comes, I hope I will be able to leave under good circumstances. The training has been pretty good, and for the most part, fun. Like most of you I think their entire organization could use an overhaul. Yes, I'm one of those out-of-work executives who is giving the trucking industry a try. Can't say I'm going to like being at home for only approximately 40 days next year, but like many others, I need the job, and hopefully, the money. Today I had an opportunity to perform "straight backing techniques," (okay it's time for all you seasoned pros to laugh), and I truthfully got a big kick out of maneuvering that "big beast." After today, I truly have a much better respect for the "real" professional drivers out there. Well, that's my #### for the week.

Widow: I saw you both there and I knew it was you. I just knew it. I was in a hurry, unfortunately, or would have stopped. I saw you both standing outside and for some strange reason I absolutely knew that it was you. Weird! However, I was just about to be "LATE" for my return to class and heavens forbid you be late to class. Tuesday...great. I'll be there unless they kick me out of school. We typically are allowed to go to lunch at 11:00 for 30 minutes, or if we're lucky, I;ll get a break. Really look forward to meeting you both. Anyway, I'm 5'10", gray beard, bow legged, and terribly handsome...you can't miss me. If you see me... Have a wonderful weekend. Scott

Had a nice relaxing day getting to Conley from Lexington KY today after helping a flatbed driver get his trailer legal. I looked for 1Badz's deer, but didn't see any sign of it. Gonna sit for my 10 or so here at the Conley Convention Center.

Deacon, if you see a black KW W9 (93888) with a slightly misshaped right front bumper (my Grapevine souviner) leaving about 7am'ish, wave so I know who you are. You'll probably walk right past it in the morning heading out to the training area. BTW this ain't a bad job if you keep your head on straight, think about what your about to do, and stay away from the terminals.

Goal for tomorrow, deliver load in Stockbridge and try to meet up with my brother (a Knight driver) who also is in the Atlanta area at the moment.
