Made it to Virginia, barely. My 8/2 was anything but restful and with the buzzard orgy that ensued an easy run has turned into a run it hard event.
Off to the frozen north.
The armadillo is starting to believe California doesn't exist and was getting ornery until I explained what roadkill was. He's quieted down since.

Sounds like you and the Armadillo have had your hands full there Bootleggger! Those dash board pets can get too cranky sometimes and just don't realize how well off they really are. I remember a restaurant in a place called Hurricane, UT., called THE ROADKILL CAFE. Never ate there but their menu had some pretty tasty sounding entrees: German Shepherd Pot Pie; Flat Cats ( single or short stack ); Deer Entrails, juicy and tender, right off the fender; etc. I did however buy a t-shirt with their menu printed on the back.

The next time your buddy starts to complain, you might want to post this recipe where the little critter can see it: ARMADILLO ROLLS, "Seasoned" armadillo remnant cuts, rolled in Interstate 10 road salt,
and marinated in the Best Atchafalaya Basin swamp water for that spicy pickled taste.
Hope things go more smoothly for both of you in the future!Bootlegger66 Thanks this. -
Yes, there are instructions, but they are a little vague. In my 07 volvo there is also a control panel besides the Icon Box. There is a heat setting there on top of an alarm and clock. Assuming that either runs the heater from the tractor, along with/or in cahoots with the switch labeled Sleeper with a "fan" symbol.
As far as having a mind of its own, have you had it melt down while you're driving? Zooming along and all I feel is a heat wave from the sleeper. Something(s) decided it was cold and went mach 5.
At least now we have ways to keep from freezing besides 3 sleeping bags. -
I am sorry to hear that you fell widow. I know that a lot of people have fallen up where I live. As far as I know most of the snow is gone though which is good. I have another question for anyone to answer although it seems like a dumb question. Are all of the trucks that Central or any other company runs manual transmission or are there some automatics out there? I've driven manuals before, I just wanted to ask out of curiosity.
-
I just wanted to clarify that I have driven manual cars and a pickup truck. Not a semi version.
-
Thanks! All central has are manual 9 speeds unless your l/o you can get a 13 speed with a spliter on it. So get ready to shift!!!!!!! -
yes there are auto shift trucks. All the trucks that U.S. Express runs are auto shift.
