Mikley, I absolutely understand. I just got off home time. Granted, my load was only a two drop, but I got into CA with my delivery in Stockton at like noon or something, then I drove down to Modesto (home) and parked the truck. My second delivery was for 0200 in the morning. Ugh! I always tell my wife that I swear Central has a group of little kids with those oversized crayons doing the routing for us.

Yeah I seem to get the drv unload / assist loads but I actually like the multi stop loads. I think they give those to me to slow me down. :biggrin_2559: You get extra money for multistops and then detention if any of them keep you there. this one gets me an extra $85 on top of the 1k miles.

West coast dedicated would be nice but i dont think there are openings and I dont have 6 months exp yet. I saw the QC today about the Chicago Local job. Too bad I dont live in Chicago.

My last shipper put my appt time at 1100 on the BOL when my QC said 1700. :biggrin_2556:

After my 99 I have to drive about 150 miles home from Merced to San leandro. might not make it home that night due to hrs. I have another stop in Livermore the same day which is driver unload no lumper avail. That's gonna chew up my logbook! :biggrin_25516: so instead of line 1 at the receiver i need to line 4 and get that crap off quick. when i worked for a beer distributor a long time ago. we called that dump n run.

:biggrin_25523: I sent a mac 1 to see if we can get the the order of stops changed and they said "thats the way the customer wants it" Its a preloaded trl at americold that picks up # 1700 friday. so I highly DOUBT its loaded yet. They could have at least tried to call to try to get the TRL loaded in a logical order.

Yeah but that would have required them to do something other than planning screwed up loads for you are done with home time.

I had one of those once, I was early for it and I played stupid. I got backed into the dock, and went to sleep. Majically the freight made it's way off the truck. I was prepared to tell them if they wanted their ####, unload it themselves I just drive, if not adios, and oh yeah I was on time, so feel free to debate all you want, but after 2 hours I get detention pay, so take your time finding a lumper.

Then their was one joint that put pallets back on the truck (normally I would have sold them but I was late for my next pickup), and expected the driver to push them off on the dock or take them with me. I asked the lumper in chief what to do with them, and his exact words were, "We don't care what you do with them" I pulled up 6 feet from the dock, climbed in the trailer and pushed them out in the dock parking, the guy ran out and yelled at me, but 2 other drivers that had the same problem yelled back at him, "You said you didn't care what we did with them" So they did the same thing.

I ended up billing that place for a driver unload and I GOT PAID FOR IT

On a professional scale, I would give you a -2 out of 10. However, on an EPIC scale, I would give you 100 out of 10! I can't tell you how many times I have told places that I am a driver, they are the warehouse. No one helps me drive so I do not help them unload. Period. I had a drop in Detroit once and they told me I had to unload. Well, I told them the above (I don't unload) and they said they won't do it. I gave them my phone number and told them to call me when they want their product. I only went around the block; but needless to say, they called within 10 minutes and unloaded the trailer. Haha. Professional? No, probably not. But you know, I am a driver. I do 100% of everything regarding this truck and driving. As soon as I pull into a dock, it's time for a much needed break on my part.

Trust me, Mikley. I know exactly what you're saying. It's all about, "well this place wants it at 10am and this place wants it at 10pm. They're only 100 miles away; put it on the same trailer." My last hometime I had to stop in Sacramento because I didn't have enough hours to make it home. I live in Modesto! 2 FREAKING HOURS AWAY! Needless to say, dispatch knew I wasn't happy.

not professional but funny as hell! There is another post under bad shipper/receivers that one guy rented a cold storage spot in a facility under the receiver's name. Are there any of those in the area? :biggrin_2559:

There I was, peacefully tooling w on I 30 in Rockwall, Tx. In the right hand lane, keeping an eye on the semi that is passing me, when a crotch rocket, blows by me like I'm sitting still, on my right and on the shoulder. All I saw was a blur and a really loud noise. Scared the crap out of me!!!!!

I'm sure somewhere in this 903 page thread these questions have been answered, but been reading this site so much my eyes are crossed and glazed over.

Would someone help out an old guy and tell him about Centrals trucks? Standard or auto trans? Equipped with apu's, inverters, or any other gadgets to make life in a box more endurable?

    Appreciate it..........
