Hello all, I too am headed for SLC & will be stopping by tomorrow to do a drop/hook. Anybody here know what the deal is about the new Pete's & KW's that are rolling in. The rumor running around is company drivers will also be getting them, but I thought they were only for O/O's... so whats the deal?

According to the company news letter the new petes are for the O/O division and 300 new Volvos are going to be coming in for company drivers. I heard they have to finish a contract before they replace the volvos with the kw's and petes but thats just hear say. Nothings official until it actually happens. Do they have new petes in yet. the O/O division told me it would be a couple of weeks until they arrived. thats what i am waiting on to sign my lease. JJRanch

Hazzmatter, Juniper Sage, and Dragon Matrix,
I think you will do well at Central. But the truth is, you would do well almost anywhere if you keep up your good attitude. You probably noticed that Brickman88 did a lot of research and is off to a good start. Follow his footprints and you will do well.
Now that I am gone from Central, I would point you to 6pack4two and Jess-Ju as well as JJRanch as people who are far enough into it that they are becoming confident and successful.
For advice from the old timers, just ask ChromeDome or myself. I had a great experience and I hope the same for you.

Thanks .... your kind words are appreciated. The ability to access and learn from the information and experience's shared here by everyone noted above, as well as yourself ... (and Preacherman), has really helped with the decision making process !!

No matter what your experience is or regardless of age you can always learn something new. Like they used to say in the army, the minute you stop learning it means you died. JJRanch.

OK, today I ran into a rain storm in Va and a little while after it stopped large what seemed to be rain drops were hitting my windshield and i thought oh great here comes the rain again but as i looked closer it was not rain. i ran into a swarm of bees. Great i just got done cleaning all the bugs off the glass this morning. I am going thru windex like my truck goes thru diesel fuel. i guess somethings are not what they appear to be. Well i will be off to Pa on another Wal Mart DC run after i have 3 tires changed on the trailer at the TA tomorrow and hopefully a run heading out west. I hope when i get back the new petes will be there.
The sign that you are with a good company is if you run across the people who you work with and they really care about how you are doing and help you out if you need info or just a helping hand. In the military we had a saying any company can be a good company if you get enough good people in it and the only way to do that is to attract good people. Sure there are not so good ones in every company the key is to keep the ratio of more good ones than bad ones. I make it a point to be a good professional driver and help out other drivers when i can. you get enough drivers like that in a company and you have a good company. In the army we have pride in our unit and i take that pride with me where ever i go. I took it to Central because they have treated me pretty good. I have had some minor problems but you can have problems at any company you go to. It is all in how you deal with and get them solved. I am happy with Central and will proudly display my pride. I wear my Central Hats and my Shirt when i go into a Truck stop or a Shipper and Receiver. I am greatful to have people like my trainer and lastkidpicked, chromedome, 6pakfor2 and other fellow Central drivers to give me advice it makes our jobs and lives easier and one day even though Chromedome doesn't like terminals id like to buy him dinner and thank him for what he does and maybe to talk some shop and pick his brain alittle. well i guess i have been long winded enough take care and i will post up again soon. JJRanch. -
