I'm looking into entering the trucking industry and need help selecting a company. I know Central, TransAM and Stevens are all starter companies. I have to start somewhere. So my questions is this: Out of the above companies which one offers better miles, equipment, and treatment of their drivers. Also, which of the above companies have a less strict policy for idling for drivers to be in comfort. I feel if your going to keep me out on the road you can at least let me have so comfort. Thanks to all who respond your advice is really appreciated. . .
Central, Stevens Transport, or TransAM

Toss a dart, they're all pretty much the same bud.
But why limit yourself to those 3 outfits? -
I would not just limit myself to just three. I just believe one of the three should hire me. I tried to pick three of the less evil if you know what I'm trying to say. . .

You apparently haven't read the threads on TransAm or Stevens. I'd stay as far away from TA as possible as they will try to get you into the fleece program that is actually a SUBLEASE! A total waste of your time!
Central seems to be the best of the three.
Just do not do the company paid schooling! Check with the local tech college about driver training. It's a ton cheaper and you don't become an indentured servant to any bottom feeder company!Last edited by a moderator: Mar 4, 2013
