Must just be a rumor. I easily pass them every night, and I can only do 68.

those are the lazy drivers. I had one creep away from me a couple weeks ago on 70. he had been trying for 25 miles to pass me but every little hill set him back. I walked away heading west out of Dayton and he didn't pass me until the rest area down at the 4.

    Woodys and Mike2633 Thank this.

Could very well be. I don't work there anymore, I just hear news from a friend who still works there ... but yet my local terminal still has the internationals so he had just heard through the grapevine that they run 68. At my local terminal they had specific trucks assigned to specific linehaul routes. We had 2 trucks that were set at 68 because they were used for a long run, and all the others were set at 63. They might be doing the same set up for the new peterbilts.

On the other hand, some of those central drivers cannot handle grinding 14 hrs every night. I had plenty of times where I would pass a coworker from my terminal or another close by terminal because they were half asleep doing 50-55mph all over the highway trying to dodge the pink elephants :biggrin_25523:. Saw the same thing with a lot of Conway drivers when I was doing linehaul.

Hopefully though, Central will register all their peterbilts at 80k. They decided to go retard when they got the internationals and would only register certain ones at 80k and the rest at 60k. So if you had an 80k truck a lot of times they would have you wait around at the swap point specifically to swap with the heaviest trailer. And of course being central they will not pay you for the first hour and pay you beans for any time after that.

I was in a 65mph truck the other night on the PA pike and a CT passed me easily. Still shocked at their new tractors, but the trailer he was pulling left something to be desired. Lol.

Hopefully it didn't leave parts on the ground behind it.
