Let the debate begin!
Should I put Centramatics on or just Spin Balance?
I've never used Centramatics & am a little skeptical.

I use Centramatics! They are the best thing I've ever added to my KW! My steer tires last a lot longer than they did with spin balancing. I noticed the difference in the way the truck felt as soon as I installed them.
The single best thing I've added to my ride...I highly recommend them!Paddletrucker, scooter823 and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
First you spin balance the new tires, then add the Centro's.
Yes their worth it as well as time proven.
Just a tad better then the golf balls we ran for many years
scooter823, losttrucker, Semi Crazy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I ain't putting new tires on

as long as the steers you have on now are in good shape it will be allright to put them on. they do what they claim they will do. i had them on my last truck & could tell a difference.
-
When I put them on my steering axle the tires had about 80,000 miles on them and I had no problems at all. I moved those tires to the trailer at 140,000 and put on new steers that now have about 150,000 on them and look real good I should easily get another 40 or 50,000 out of them before I put them on the trailer.

I ran golf balls in the 70's thru the 90's the old guy that taught me to drive showed me that trick.

Hey Redd, I'm actually gonna put them on my drivers when I get new tires. A friend of mine runs them and swears by them back there...He also runs them on his trailer.

Here is the problem with spin balance, every time you brake (on steers and trailer) and every time you accelerate (drives, obviously) the tires slip just a little bit every time on the rim. After a while those weights are actually a detriment to tire life. Pure physics, man.
Unless you use bead-locks, but I don't think those are approved for highway use. -
The only reason why I'm asking is because I've heard a lot of good about them. But them when I ask the shop, they tell me negative comments & that they have been removing a lot of them from trucks.
I do have a bad wheel hop that I'm wanting to cure... I strongly believe it is the recaps that were on this truck when I bought it... They have good tread & seem to be decent tires so I don't see the need to put new tires on just yet.
I'm having new brakes put on tomorrow.... So I'm thinking about having the centramatics thrown on at the same time.
