CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

Dropped at the Laredo, TX terminalthis morning, and now have a load to Redmond, WA. After finishing this load, I will be getting close to the minimum driving hours CFI requires to upgrade. Hopefully, we can get multiplr short runs so I can get more experience dealing with B.O.L's and other papetwork, the Peoplenet and other non-driving duties. I would not be ready to go solo until then, or it would be a total cluster.The first 10 days have rapidly gone by. Duties, driving, sleep......repeat. Currently in some downtrodden Pilot in Eagle Pass, TX for our 10.

 

Welcome to the border towns. It seems like everything is downtrodden in those areas.

If you pass del rio and are heading west. Try to pass del too around 6 am and you should catch a baeutiful sunrise as you cross the big ravine about 69 miles west of del rio

 

You'll see that pilot more than once. Lot looks bad but the showers and food are good. The folks working there are nice.
Good opportunity this trip to save possible rest areas between eagle pass and Fort Stockton. Just dirt turnouts but sometimes you need them. The trip to Redmond can be a scenic but a lot of hill work depending on your routing.

 

Vitro Carlisle PA to Vitro Wichita Falls TX. Last leg from Benton AR to receiver on US-70. Fun drive but wouldn't take it if I was an IC. Poor fuel economy slow drive and Vitro Wichita Falls is slow to reload outbound.
This last week all sheet glass Laredo to Carlisle to Wichita Falls to Laredo.

 

Going down i80 today in Nebraska. Heading to Salt Lake City. Gonna stop in little America tomorrow for the good old obligates ice cream stop.

 

Parked at the Iowa 80 for the night. The buffet is my treat for the week. And maybe some shiney stuff for betsy.

 

We are hanging out in Gray, Louisiana on a TSC run. Then we pick up near New Orleans and drive up to Wisconsin. Nice little run to start our first week back.
