Im really digging my setup... oNot disappointing thing is. When cfi mentioned on their voice is heard that they're adding outward facing cameras. They failed to mention that they're also adding driver cameras which you can see are both in my new truck. I called my fleet manager about it the day I got the truck and supposedly they're not using the driver cameras yet. But mine has a little green light on when I'm driving. And the other day my cruise disabled because of an overpass and that triggered a forward collision on my peoplenet. I looked up at the camera and suddenly the green light was gone and now it was 2 red lights for the next few minutes...I got nothing to hide anyways so whatever I suppose

Yeah not to excited about the cameras in general either. After looking up the software, the cameras can be set to record continuously. I'm already not convinced that the people net tablets don't record us.

Well the people net tablet. The person who had my.old truck before me had tape on the camera .I never took the tapeoff and I never got in trouble. But I asked my fleet manager if I could cover the driver camera since they're not being used yet and she said no.

So that tells me CFI is lying to you. I’d cover it and see if they notice. That’ll tell you right away if they watch or not.

Either way it's whatever. I sleep.with the bunk blinds.closed so I have my privacy. And I'd say 95% of the time I have nothing to hide while I drive. The worst is literally me just trying to turn on Spotify on my phone or opening Google maps to double check satellite view as I pull up on a customer.

But soon they’ll definitely put a stop to even touching your phone

Yeah it's not gonna go over well..these driver cameras never do especially with the older crowd. Doesn't bother me much, if anything they are gonna be offended by the things I say. And I'll take those "40 sec recording windows" and use that time to leave constructive criticism. Such as, the collision mitigation system is gonna be the death of me one day when it slams on the breaks while going under a bridge luckily it hasn't done it while slick conditions are present. But it's only a matter of time.

I actually thought about that the other day when it happened with the overpass I mentioned. My old truck would be easy on the brake when that'd happen but this new one was very jerky. And like I said tho. I don't really touch my phone at all. It's just to skip a song on Spotify or Google maps really quick.

Yeah my truck slams the brakes. Takes a few seconds to bring it back under control. Some times are worse than other. Had an incident in Ohio it slammed so hard and jerked to left (had rained earlier in the day) it sent across one lane. Thankfully no one was in the lane. I have a handful of incidents where by sheer luck and timing nothing bad happened. This collision mitigation system is garbage. And it needs to go. Of course you tell safety and they kinda shrug it off saying it helps more than hurts. I'm just ok. Make sure to write that on my headstone when it slams the brakes on ice or snow..

I can't imagine it's be hard to implement a setting in the system to disable it below certain temperatures. One brake check is all you need to lose traction.
