Well, found a fleet owner who wants to take my wife and I on. He is sending the application to us today or tomorrow for the company we will be driving for. 10-14 days application process

So we started looking elsewhere. Running with a LTL company we would be running 5-6k miles a week making pretty much $1800 per driver a week depending on route with two days off a week.
Or expediting where, we run 3k-4k a week (same as CFI), with almost all weekends off. We get a bigger Bunk 100" sleeper, built in fridge, microwave convection oven, and stove top. APU, and inverters. And only a 40ft truck hauling no more than 13k lbs in the box, can park at alot of campgrounds and RV parks.
And we will still make about/if not a little more than we do at CFI. Not to mention, we get to pick and choose loads instead of force dispatch.
I love CFI and still recommend to everyone, but with some of the recent changes (mostly involving dispatch) it really spurred our interest into moving on.Mototom, subseaguru, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
Cerb,
It sounds like you and the wife have found a great solution to the dispatch problems at CFI. Either the LTL for top $ or the expedite for super amenities sound really sweet. Good luck to you both in which ever way you choose to go.RoadRooster and Cerberus XVI Thank this. -

One of the only reasons I don't like using hometime with CFI lately... I never get a preplan the night before or day before I go back on duty anymore. Came to my truck and went in board aorund 0630... It's 13:07 now and still no plan. Happy I started a preteip at 0630 so they can't expect me to run all night too... If they got me a preplan around 0800 or 0900 I could have easily just edited my logs and removed that pretrip. But I refuse to do it if you're going to require me to be ready to work at 0730 and then proceed to make me sit all day. ...
RoadRooster, Kidd05, dosgatos and 1 other person Thank this. -
